Mine is still saying February. I REALLY hope they're just slowly rolling this out. If not, I'm going to call ATT and ask them if they plan to try and keep me as a customer.

If they allow me to upgrade I will be buying two new iPhone 4S's and extending my contract. If not, I'll pay the $175 ETF instead of the $250 upgrade fee and just start up with Verizon or Sprint.

let us know how it goes, I'm in the exact situation as you for a 2-line family plan.

I'm in the same boat as well. Do they still deduct $5 month that you've been on contract from the total ETF?

its $325 - $10/month on contract, so for people that got theirs on launch day, it should be around $175 or so

Upgrade Information

AT&T Upgrade Status:
• You are not Eligible at this Time - You can take advantage of our no commitment pricing. Additional discounts may be available on 11/25/2011

iPhone Upgrade Status:
• You are not Eligible at this Time - As a valued AT&T customer, we can offer you a discounted iPhone upgrade at a reduced discount, along with a 2-year commitment. You may qualify for a full discount on a standard iPhone upgrade on 11/25/2011

So on 11/25/11, if I upgrade to iPhone 4s, i don't need to sign up another 2 years? How much is that 'reduced discont' with the 2 year commitment?

Does that mean I get the new contract pricing ($200)?

I totally agree! I got my iPhone on day 1 and have every year like clock work! One year I had a family plan attached to it and they tried to screw me until I called and told them I was gonna jump ship

I just got off the phone with them and they are stating that their phones have been ringing off the hook and to be patient. I told them if im not eligible then I will go ahead and cancel my services and pay the ETF and take my business to Verizon as its hogwash and a way to punish customers or make them bow down and do nothing but take the BS that they are trying to pull. I told them it seems like their trying to re-coup fees for losing customers to verizon and now they are going to lose some to sprint.

199/299/399 for you on 11/25 w/ 2 year commitment!

449/549/649 for the reduced discount if you want to get it from 10/14-11/24

If you don't want the 2 year commitment, you would have to pay: 649/749/849

I'm in the same boat as quite a few of you are, bought 4 on release day, and shows I have to pay the $250 penalty, or wait until Feb. I hope this gets figured out....

Im on the phone with ATT now and they are transferring me to someone else. I told them I will pay the $205.00 ETF (Dont ask me about the pricing of the ETF, that is what 3 different ones have told me as they keep re-routing me to other specialists)
I was told that they are going to transfer me to customer relations... To see if they can fix my eligibility , so that I will not jump ship! Ill report back once Im done with the call

Before today's event I was eligible for an upgrade this month (October 2011) but now it states February 2012. I bought my iPhone 4 on launch day in 2010.

Other friends are either in the same boat as me, or have an upgrade eligibility date of November 2011.

I am hoping something is wrong, and it will be corrected shortly.

Wow that's horrible. I hope they change it for you.

My wife's line is eligible for a discounted upgrade, but my line would have any discount until May 14th 2012.

If the next iPhone after this comes out a year from now, and my apple care coverage extends to December 2012, I'll wait for that most likely.

I may look into getting my wife something better than her flip phone in the meantime. Maybe an 8GB iPhone 4.

Ok , so now im being told this is APPLE'S DOING! They said that Apple is the one that is supplying dates!
They said that Apple is the one that decides how the months for upgrading the iPhone goes. The customer relations rep said that Apple will probably change this before launch. Well they got a week to do something or ill jump ship quick!

i doubt apple gives a crap. at&t pays apple the full cost for each phone, whether or not its a full or early upgrade.

Called AT&T. Here's what I was told.

I asked if they could move my date from 11/2/11 to 10/14/11 so I could get the new phone. I was told they'd be happy to, but it wouldn't do any good. The date change only affects their phone system and NOT the online system. Since you can only pre-order online... you can see the problem. I can call back on the 14th and they'll sell me one then, but as we all know, shipping times will be 6 weeks by then.

This particular agent also told me Apple supplies the dates. I find that hard to believe, as it doesn't make a lot of sense.

A little off topic but Do you think I can use my moms verizon upgrade and then just put my AT&T sim card into it?

So you could potentially go INTO the store and convince someone to give you the upgrade, but will have no luck online? I'm OK to wait a month just not until the end of the year.

Uhhhhh no. Verizon phones don't have SIM cards, if it were that easy Verizon users would've had iPhones a long time ago.
