I had these black spots above my signal dots out of the box on a few 6S+. Not sure it's dust, but if these spots arrive after a few weeks then it may well be? I'm more inclined to think it's an LCD issue.

Im just back from apple. Screen is perfect now headphone jack is loose. Oh my.. Well im fine with it. Hate exchange game.

Seriously do not understand what part of its not dust people are not getting! The lcd and digitiser are laminated!!

We know that but if you see the issue, it appears as if the dust is on top of the screen. However, it can very well be on the layer above the backlight and below the LCD panel.

We don't know what it is. What do you propose we start calling it instead?

the seal of Display's are week, and get open when we press harder,
the steel protector(last layer of Screen) have not any Screw to be tight,(according to pics of ifixit)
when we press harder the steel get loose, then DUST get enters from easy way,
likely from Silent Switch,
if you look from ifixed website you would notice..
thats defently design FLAW..

EDIT. and when Seal get week, the some press on screen produce CKEEKY SOUND..

ok, next thing,
people hear started war and said wrong to me,
some said i should be BANNED in this forum,
some said im like those who replace handset because of Samsung CHIP,
according to me, there is nothing different btw tsmc and samsung chip, they are just different Manufactures, tech are same,
so im like those MAD??

one more thing to MENTION,

I LIKE IN DUST AREA (INDIA)
i have 2 Iphone 6, 1 Iphone 5s
i still have these, even after year of usage, there is NO DUST, not even HALF..

and 1 Iphone6s(which im replacing because DUST's was increasing and became easily noticable, some of my friend told me that "hey, did you saw that dots? or its feature"
thats why REPLACED.

Hello iPhone 6s Users,
i dont know i should aware people, but i think there are people like me who hate dust under screen,
some people know i replied some threads about my Iphone 6s Defects,
I have Replaced 5 iphone 6s, because of Dust issue,
in Sunlight i can dust under Screen and Under GLASS EASILY, Which is totally Bad feeling for buying Luxury Devices like Iphone.
first replacement i thought may be first batch is bad,
but after 5 replacement, i realized that, its due to 3d Touch,
when we press hard on screen, Dust came from Switch goes under Screen,
and some particle under GLASS,
SOME PEOPLE who never look so deeply cant Notice Dust Under GLASS,
but it can visible with NAKED EYES in Sunlight,
and the DUST Under DISPLAY PANEL Always Visible feels like DEAD PIXELS.
you can prevent it if you laminate switch or Tapp that area,
i hate these things, annoys me,
im dissappointed with apple but about their service, its brilliant, they are providing me RMA,
i hope this will good..fingers crossed.

To those of you saying that this is a problem, I have had mine since day one and use 3D touch features on a very regular basis. I have no dust under my screen. Are you sure it's not under your screen protector? Or maybe you just don't know how to actually take care of you're device.

I am so happy that I've gotten so lucky OR my eyes are so bad that I get to enjoy my phone without worrying about dust gate, blemish gate, chip gate, or any gate roaming around out there.
NONE of my iPhones through the years have given me trouble. I simply enjoy them and go about my life. Instead of grabbing loupes and wasting time exchanging supposedly blemished phones or phones without a specific chip.

The confusion is that it is proclaimed as dust. I don't think it is. I think it is a delamination of the screen from the glass which will look exactly like one of the pictures shown (like fuzzy dots). Once it starts from one corner it will keep growing and growing during warm up and cool down cycles. I also don't think its due to pressing on the screen with 3D Touch. However, it "could" be due to flexing of the glass in a pocket that has now become an issue because the aluminium body can't flex anymore due to its increased rigidity. This is just my theory...but I am starting to wonder if with the older aluminium that in a tight pocket everything flexed ever so slightly but together, body, screen, glass etc (and if anyone sees the gorilla glass tests, they will know just how much it can flex)...but with the more rigid aluminium shells, this has changed which parts are pressing against which in a "tight pocket" scenario...and maybe this is leading to delamination starting from one corner.

Incidentally I have one "true" piece of dust under my screen. It is about 1mm in size and looks like a curled up fibre. It is not visible when the screen is on as it's so fine. It can only be seen when the screen is off under a bright spotlight when the rest of the screen is completely clean and dust free...then at the right angle you can catch a glint from this single piece of dust. This piece of dust is nowhere near the top left as referred to in this thread and not related to this problem. I definitely wouldn't return it for this as it doesn't affect viewing and requires some pretty extreme evaluation to find it.

It's definitely not the backlight uniformity, it's dust either on the lcd or on the backlight below it. The affected area slowly increases as more dust gets in.
I beg to differ. Do a google search for "uneven iPhone 6 screen" and have fun.

Noticed a tiny black spot under mine in the top left corner by the switch. Only noticeable on a plain white screen, and if I look for it. Can't see it in everyday usage.

This OP is good. Just from looking at spots on screen deduced:

That it is dust
That it's entering from specific location
That it's a design flaw
That the 3D Touch is involved
And it affects 6s

And this is just from the title!

Have you seen news reports on that Russian airliner that was brought down. Can you tell us with what, who did it, why, where they are located, and do they plan on doing it again?

After 5 replacements, disappointed in Apple.
Am wondering how disappointed Apple is with having OP as a customer.
