Been reading this thread but decided not to look too hard for this problem. However, since I scratched my screen a few days ago I figured "what the heck, go for it! Look for a new problem!" Boosted brightness to 100% and put eyes close to screen.

Yep. Launch day 6S here. Dark gray pin points forming at top left of screen here too!

I've seen 3 silver iPhone 6S Plus 128GB so far and all have "dust" in the top left corner to some degree.

Well if it ends up like the moving FaceTime camera washer on the 6, it will never be fixed. Of course, that issue wasn't as annoying as specs on your screen.

I've been waiting on AT&T to process the return of the 6S Plus I sent back for a different model. I'm thinks I won't reorder once I get refunded. It sounds as though this is a generation to skip. I don't mean to be harsh with that, but who wants a delminating screen? And the replacement models, they haven't impressed me when I had to get two on the 6.

Honestly, it's a shame that this issue is affecting both 6S and 6S Plus because I would even move away from the Plus if it meant getting a screen that wouldn't deteriorate over time. I get the 128GB model so I don't like knowing it will eventually need a replacement on a thousand dollar device.

Apple products are starting to feel different. They are faster than ever with extraordinary performance but these additional qualities that made them so special are missing. They are just such a massive company and sell so much, there might not be a way to make this many without flaws?

All the guys claiming it cannot be dust coming in, because the screen is laminated to the glass: that is partially true. Yes, the LCD itself is laminated to the front glass, however the backlight behind the LCD is not glued to the LCD. And that is the problem here. The dust is in between the LCD and the backlight unit, or even inside the backlight unit, as this by itself consists of multiple layers. That is why the dust particles you can see appear blurry.

The camera never moved. It was the dust seal gasket that was meant to seal the surface of the camera lense and screen asssembly surface that use to shift.

I appreciate your clarification, but I stated "FaceTime camera washer," not that the camera itself moved.

Whatever the case, it seems once these designs are locked, it's hard to get anything changed?

Never happened to me on a screen, but on my old 5S I got a speck under my lens once which showed up on every photo. I threw it on the ground (carpet) and shook it loose. It found its way back after 6 months or so, but then I upgraded to my 6S soon after, no problems. *shrug*

mine has it too :( theres one dark spot and a few other ones, 4 total spots.. didnt notice it before til i saw this post. since im very ocd about everything, im going to get my exchanges.

Mine had one too after only 1 week of use.
I returned it. I'm still hesitating if I should get another 6S or get a 5S as after 1 week with the 6S I couldn't get used to the size of the phone.
Plus there is a chance that if I get another 6S it might have the same problem

My 6S+ has some light bleed, about five small ones from the top, and a slight yellowing in the upper-left corner. Most of this isn't noticeable unless the screen is fairly dim. So far no dust. A great way to check is to find a pure black image and fill the display and then check. ^^

How long have you had yours without that dust entering?

Note, something I noticed with the 6S that is not on the 6 is that each corner has a tiny gap, looks like a bright pixel. I think this has something to do with the 3D Touch functionality and this is where the dust enters (my theory).

See photo attached.

Since the dust was slowly increasing and the affected area was growing, I went to the Apple store again. This time, they replaced only the screen instead of the whole device (fine by me).

New screen has a way more even backlight and looks really good. Obviously, it's too early to say whether dust will be an issue again.

One thing I noticed, the new screen does not have the light spot I mentioned above in each corner.

Its not a dust i hear. Something like 3d touch module touches backlight module kinda thing. Anyways its either a design flaw or manufacturing error

I have seen this on multiple phone... Both 6s and 6s plus... Not really worried about it. Either Apple will have to fix or it is nothing...

How distracting is it when you've seen it? Could one live with it and still enjoy the phone or?

Dude, buy another phone if it bothers you so much. Life it too short.

Maybe he wants an iPhone?

I don't have a 6S but totally believe the owner.

I went through -6- iPhone 5 models because dust got in the camera lens of every single one (making a massive unsightly dot in all pictures) not only this but at the time I went around to my friends 5's and looked in the camera ALL had dust, even when it was in the corner of the lens and didn't affect pictures my friends were outraged, simply because it shouldn't be happening on a phone that cost that much. Funnily enough I switched to Android after that, following your post suggestion, but I couldn't stand it and moved back when the 6+ was announced.

How common is this issue? Is everyone seeing dust?

I haven't really seen other threads about it. If it was dust, I think more people would start to notice since dust will just accumulate within the screen. When I took my phone in the guy said its most likely an adhesive issue. I've had mine in a lifeproof case and so far haven't noticed anything.

It is NOT dust. I have seen multiple phones with this. All are of the "s" variety. I wouldn't worry about it.

Just few spots :/ well alot of time to wait, so if it gets worse i'll contact to apple just before the warranty ends...

Yah I wouldn't be in a hurry to get a new screen. Just had mine replaced today and although my dust problem is solved, the new screen is only half as bright and I have a huge dark shadow/smudge at top left. On the plus side 3D Touch is easier to activate on this one.

EDIT: Can't take it anymore! This new screen is going back in for another replacement.
