I've just had an online chat with Apple about my AppleCare not applying correctly and I mentioned the wear on my product and the reply I got (after waiting a few minutes) was that in this early stage of the product, it's unknown how it will react to the daily rigors. I may nip into the store on my way home and ask them - they've obviously had 2 weeks of band use.

That's no excuse!

I have a white sport band and am noticing the same problem.

It's not a big deal for me at all as on the white it is barely noticeable, in fact I probably wouldn't have noticed if it wasn't for this thread.

But I can imagine these marks would be very undesirable against a black band.

As much as it isn't a problem aesthetically, it's still a little disappointing it has happened after only a weekend of usage.

I guess my only real concern is, how much worse will it look in 2, 3, 6 months?

My bands look like that too. Doesn't bother me. I wipe it down nightly. No biggie :)

Yup, noticed this with my black band too. My watch is perfect though.

I just got a call back from my contact at Applecare and he stated that it is normal wear and tear. I then re-iterated that this is happening on a 3-day-old product. He agreed and suggested I update him in a week and let him know if this issue gets worse. He wasn't in the position to send me a replacement at this time.

Normal.

Rubber bands go like that after rubbing as you move your wrist.

Especially around the area where you buckle it up.

Similar look happened to all my dumb sports watch I have ever owned.

It looks like those plastic films they put on everything.

I'm think you just rub it down to make it consistent?
