Was going to title the thread, Hallelujah! I've been saved! but decided to go more descriptive.

I am an Audible junkie and I've been waiting so long for an Audible Watch app! Paired with my AirPods, this is nirvana.

For me, this is the best present I could get today. (Granted, I am easily pleased.)

Yah, this is fantastic news. I’d like to see iBooks get on board as well but audible is fantastic.

I am looking for the Audible app for my AW Series 4 and I don’t see it. Where is it?

Go to the App Store on your phone. If you’re already using Audible make sure you get the updated version (which for some reason wasn’t under my Updates.)

Then open the Watch app on your phone and it will appear under Available Apps. Just click to install.

You’ll need to upload the Audible book you want to listen to to your Watch by going to the book in your Audible library on your phone and selecting Sync to Apple Watch from the “...” menu. The sync will go faster if your Watch is on its charger.

Figured it out. I updated the app and there it was! I am soooooo happy. I can listen while walking at night and leave my phone behind.

I'm excited, but it's not working for me at the moment on my Series 4. The iOS app transfers content to the Watch app, but Watch app crashes as soon as you hit play on my Apple Watch.

I am running iOS 12.1 beta 1 and WatchOS 5.1 beta 1, but I cannot downgrade the Watch to test it with WatchOS 5.

I've used iCatcher to listen to podcasts on my Apple Watches for a while. It used unsupported methods in WatchOS 4, but it worked. A few times, I converted Audible books to plain AAC files so that I could transfer them into iCatcher and then to the Watch. I will be very happy not to have to jump through those hoops.

Has anyone noticed the books aren’t syncing between the books on the iPhone and the Apple Watch? I am halfway through one of my books on the Audible App on my iPhone. I decided to go for a walk and listen to an Audible book and assumed the Audible App on my watch would pick up where I left off the same location of the book on the IPhone. It did not. The app on the Apple Watch starts the book from the beginning. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm super excited about this as well. This, combined with Podcasts on the Watch (Overcast with standalone Watch support is great!) is so awesome!

i wish the Podcast App functioned as well. It still needs work imo.

Try Overcast, it works great. No streaming for the time being though.

Also faster if you first disable bluetooth on your phone. Forces the watch onto the wifi network.

The very first time I synced a book to my Watch, I had to manually advance on my Watch to the correct chapter (well, either that or I was too impatient to wait for a sync; not sure). But since then (and I'm on my 3rd Audible book, my Watch has always been in sync.

The Audible app is AMAZING! Full chapter support, elegant design. It is a masterclass in Watch design - I just hope one day to have the entire library browsable on the watch with a download button, WiFi downloads or even LTE would work well from my Podcast app experiences.

Yeah, loving it!

How? Audible only syncing books to your watch, Podcast doing the same thing and also over cellular. What do you mean it needs work compared to Audible?

The design I think is much better, but the big feature is chapter support! I’d love MP3 chapter support on a podcast client for the watch.

But yes I agree - the requirement to sync from the phone is a downer.

Chapter support is a great recommendation.

Maybe I am misunderstanding your suggestion, but there is manual chapter support -- in other words, you can go to a particular chapter on the watch, as opposed to having just one, unsegmented file. My only peeve using the app on my watch was that the max volume seemed low (compared with podcasts, radio, etc.) -- but maybe that varies by book.

I don’t think there is chapter support for Podcasts on the watch? This is the selling point of Overcast AFAIK.
