My oh my, who is that? Reminds me of an ice skater for some reason. No matter who it is, you must hook me up that superb wallpaper.

Fair warning, the filesize is GIANT, which means it will be crisp on large displays :)

Anyways I couldnt find the file so I just uploaded up to
this site. Enjoy!

This is one of those photos I have enjoyed way too many times as a desktop, and just added some black on the right to organize folders better on my desktop.

I believe the wallpaper is actual a very, very high resolution file originally... but I could be mistaken.

Thanks Mitthrawnuruodo, I just checked back but I see you linked them up! I've actually got several from there that I rotate.
I'm a fan of Astronomy Pictures of the Day, too, used to have lots of Desktops from there, myself (just now I'm having another style), like these: Titan and, my all time favorite APoD "desktop" with Jupiter and Io. :)

You saved to a .jpg file, no chance you used some compression on it to make the filesize a bit smaller? That could make it a bit blurry if you did. Also if you want to give it a try, I did mine by using 'Core Image Fun House' which is included in /Developer/Applications/Graphic Tools. Can change the colors really quickly and easily by using Modifying 'Color Effect' > 'False Color' and then picking what shades you want. Mine turn out pretty smooth that way.

some of my favorite desktops have been supernovas, heck anything from space.

will probably change to one of those soon. i change my dekstops a couple times a week or so.

i agree with what tag said.

plus just so you know, unless the original is different or unless you specify, photoshop will save your files at 72 pixels per inch by default. (you need to know this if you ever want to print somethng you photoshopped) if you go to size image, click off the check mark for "resample image" (you don't want it to physically resize the picture at this point) and get it to about 300 pixels per inch. the numbers in the upper boxes for the image size will change - that will be your "print size" - so if you have a large picture and you want to print it at 5x7" change the inches but make sure it does not resample the image... this will give you the max resolution (pixels per inch) and the picture will be more crisp.
this rule of thumb also works for keeping quality images just for desktop or web use.

when you go to save, be sure you save at a decent quality or it will degrade the image as well. you can also fiddle with your compression settings but that is a whole other story.

hope that helps

The Olsen twins are starting to smell the Hollywood stench. From cute and adorable to jaded and skanky, is the fate of all child actors. I wouldn't touch them with a 10-foot pole.

Am I the only person here who leaves the default Apple desktop on? I just can't seem to find one that looks better than the regular Apple desktop.

I like the Aqua Blue the best, as well. I do switch it around sometimes, though.
