Just decided to change things up a little. I found a nice warm color profile for the 15" MBP and everything looks really nice on my LCD.

How'd you manage that? I'd love to have something like that on my desktop. I had the crazy idea of going into my local Apple store and emailing myself the application then fiddling with it.

[Edit] Also, would you mind sharing that wall? :)

How do you get that Apple Store looking application in the middle of your desktop?
Thanks.

It's an application called DockTop (http://www.jonn8.com/docktop/). I believe it costs $6. It's pretty useful though.

And I tried to find the desktop but I couldn't. I had the wallpaper saved on my iMac and I just copied onto here. I'll look for it later online and post it.

Got it going! I've customized it to be simple like the rest. The Away, Idle, Connect, and Notification symbols are still the same, but now when I have a message, it just inverts colors. (From black with white text to white with black text.)

Thanks a lot to BillyBobBongo for the tip! With a little reading and copy-catting, I got my dock all looking the same!

Yay!

Happy to be of service! That's a nice uniform dock you've got going on there....very nice indeed! :D

New Metallica album coming September 12th, so I have a new desktop to celebrate. Please keep the Metallica bashing down. I dig 'em. If you don't, you don't have to tell me about it.

The first one is from my first monitor, and the second is from my 20" iMac. Also using the BSOD on and off.Secondary Screen.jpg

Haha, love the BSOD, and the second image that you have there, did you make it yourself, or was this included in some version of Leopard?

go! I took this pic in Arkansas at my parents home.
Sweet Picture, it looks really professional.

And could I request that people please put links in their post to the original, or at least state that they won't be sharing a link? About of a 1/3 of the posts in this thread so far have been people asking for links, when the mods asked at the beginning of the thread for people to include links in their post to prevent this. I hate being at work seeing that there is a new post here, open the thread, have all the images load on my iPod, just to see that it was somebody asking for a link. And please don't quote the images, but that problem isn't as bad as it is in other threads.

I like....

It's possible to run your screensaver as your desktop in OS X with a program called Wallsaver.

RSS fed Desktops

Hi,

I was wondering, is there anyway to use a RSS or internet feed to update your desktops at regular intervals?

I find the idea of booting up my Mac to find a very cool desktop that's been freshly downloaded.
