I don't see any reason for the iPhone X to not be available at launch. However, the issue rests with supply, just like last years Jet Black iPhone debacle, where we will probably see only limited phones being available (especially for colours such as Blush Gold) with the rest being on back order and delayed for a couple of weeks.

Honestly, we are going to suffer when it comes to price. I'm guessing $1879 for the 256GB.

Someone just did it. :)

Thanks, whoever! Lol.
I reported the first post here saying basically please sticky this. And they did. First time ever that I've gotten swift positive action on a post report. So to which ever moderator did this, thank you.

I am happy that it is slightly less than what I predicted ($1879)...but its still a lot of money.

And now Apple has decided not to bring out the Blush Gold version and Face ID failed the first time...

I do feel sorry for you guys. We are complaining about prices of the X in the UK and its even worse in the rest of Europe but god the prices that you guys are expect to pay is just ridiculous

Yeah, it's pretty brutal here lol. Always has been. I know direct conversions aren't necessarily an accurate representation, but US999 converts to AUD1245, so why it's actually AUD1579 is beyond me lol.

Anyone know what time on Friday preorders will open? I'm in WA so hopefully it's midnight AEST

I'm in WA too, it'll be 3.00 pm AWST, 6.00 pm AEST for the iPhone X and 3.00 pm AWST, 5.00 pm AEST for the iPhone 8.

Basically, it opens at midnight Pacific Standard Time, we don't adjust to midnight based on where we are, the rest of the world just gets in line lol.

Any reason why we can't directly order from someone in the US and send it here?

Really? That's absurd.
I meeting up with an American friend in Jan. Any reason she can't bring it over with her then?
I'm reluctant to pay the stupid prices apple asks of us here.

patiently awaiting for X pre-order

Saw a few of the demo videos of the X. Sexy device!

That would work. I did that when I was over there for the 6 launch, got it there and just brought it back with me like a regular phone lol.

Apple will support your phone in any country, so that's good.

You'll get a US charging plug, so that'll be useless. If you've already got a few lying around then it won't matter - or you could buy a faster charging plug than the standard 5W charger.

I'm not sure, but you probably won't get the 2 years statutory warranty that Australia forces on phone manufacturers, just the standard 1 year. (If you are getting AppleCare then it won't matter.)

Thanks guys. Bit of thinking to do. Regardless, the price is just nasty.
How does everyone foresee stock here in Aus considering the price?

$1800!?

I quickly skimmed the Apple Store earlier, saw ~$1500 & thought that was the 256gb.

Unless my work can get a very decent deal, then I'm not sure about this. Bummer!

I was definitely worried for a launch next week, but I think with the extra (basically) two months for the X it'll be fine. The 8/8 Plus should go ahead without any issues also.

Yep, it's pretty much completely turned me off the phone, ridiculous price to ask for a phone. Plus the extra 2 months to get it is insane, the iPhone 8 for me

Completely understand that decision.

I'm now wondering if the whole 2018 iPhone range will resemble the X, because waiting another year, expecting a more refined (& affordable!) X form-factor iPhone is what I may consider.
