Can anyone who owns this case verify whether the lightning to 30-pin adapter will fit the bottom cutout? It looks like it might be tight...

Really? That's great news. Any chance you can take a pic with the adapter in the case? It's hard for me to picture...

sorry, I sent mine back..............
nice looking as it was the loss in LTE and signal drops were not worth the $90

Hey guys, just received my Draco 5.

Extensive testing will be done.. Any request of signals and pictures just post and ask..

So far, first thing I noticed was that LTE is NOT working.. Keeps staying on 3G even when I power off/on, enable/disable LTE.. Nothing..

As far as voice signal, it stays the same for me.

Phone naked was -91 constant unless I move around the house.. As low as -101 naked in weaker reception area of my house.

With case on, my signal fluctuates anywhere from -78 to -101 in my house.

Anyway, more testing will be done.. Let's hope we can find a way to make LTE work.. Cause this case is absolutely gorgeous!

Pictures coming soon..

I ordered and received today a plastic Draco and while I think it looks awesome, it's sub-par to hold and use. The power, silent and volume cutouts are just that - cutouts - without the button inserts that the legit aluminum version has, which makes those buttons very, very difficult to access and push. Also the front and back pieces don't align perfectly which isn't actually all that noticeable visually, but I can feel the sharp protruding edge along the entire length of one side of one of the pieces every time I pick up and hold the phone. Finally, it flexes and bows way too much.

I can't say that I'm all that surprised however - for the price I paid and considering that it's a plastic knock-off, I was expecting it to be piss poor in quality and I'd actually say it's a bit (barely) better than that. It was worth the experiment, but not worth keeping on my phone. Back to the Noot.

I got mine in the morning today, as did my brother.
The case itself is gorgeous and high quality...but I'm sending it back. It kills both signal (especially LTE) and battery life.

I had it on the phone all day, it bounced back and forth from LTE, to 4-5 bars of 3G, often times 1 bar of 3G in LTE areas. I'm assuming this bouncing is responsible for the rapid diminish of battery life. I can typically end an average day (10+ hours) with 20-30% battery life left and my phone was completely dead in SEVEN hours from this case.

I thought maybe I put it on too tight or something but my brother reported the same results: low reception, and a drop of 60% battery life in a couple hours.

It's a shame because the look and quality is amazing.
Avoid this one guys.

so glad to find out it wasnt just me
thanks for sharing

Just got my case and it came defective. There is a huge dent at the top of my case which they painted right over. Talk about a lack of quality control.

It completely killed my LTE signal. Stay away from this case. Sector 5, Here I come!

Got my Draco 5 finally...

Quick test show no issue with signal...

Tested with Singtel and Starhub.

Battery drain too early to tell...

Now uploading photo...

will update again with more detail

OK let start from the beginning..

Photo before opening..

This is what we have after opening

OK enough of this..

Lets have a close up look.

Left side of the bumper with the button
This thing round for the button instead of the black protection, Draco uses the transparent protection film over the metal button to prevent scratching your phone button.

The mute button

The whole thing
The screw is not as nice as sector 5 but then since it is not for display use thus I don't care about it and in fact better cause the $$ save could be use on other thing rather then having a pretty screw.

OK, after having the whole thing mount on it.
When fitting start from the button side and have to do it slow and careful as it is quite tight fit and if you are not careful might scratch your phone.

-----------------------

Here the first impression summary

Things I like;
- The whole bumper is nice to hold and fit into my hand nicely.
- Love the button, cause it protect every area of the phone and even the button part.
- The bottom opening is wide open.
- No signal lose or even a drop in a bar (tested for Starhub and Singtel)
- No wifi issue found.

Things I dislike;
- The sim tray opening is too small and I have to give it a few try before I manage to learn how to remove my tray
- Too bad the bottom opening it not big enough cause can't fit my westons earphone

Other yet to confirm
- Macrumors claim it will kill LTE but since my home area no LTE for both starhub and singtel thus not able to confirm this part yet.

Lastly will I keep the bumper. Yes, cause this is the only one I see so far which fit what I want; Pretty design and metal button.

In my opinion, stay as far away as possible from these aluminum cases...After trying god knows how many on my 4/4S it is just not possible for them not to kill the signal...Its fine if you're standing right next to the router/station, but its on the out skirts of reception where the issue always lies. All these companies claim to not effect the signal...they are all full of crap...The other major problem for me with these types of cases was that the phone no longer fits in any type of docking station...I have since moved to all airplay/bluetooth connectivity, but still in a pinch that i needed some juice the damn case is impossible to take off unless you have the allen key with you...Moral of the story...Save your money and buy something made of plastic/rubber.

Unfortunetly, this case does negatively affect the LTE signal. :0( the signal went from -78 to -94 at my work. I couldn't even pick up an LTE signal at home where I normally pick up a weaker signal. I had to put a request in for a return. Aesthetically, It is a really nice case.... Just wish the signal loss wasn't there.

Same here, with Sandy gone (for the most part) I went to 3 different towns around NYC, LTE worked great and I averaged 4 to 5 bars. I'll give it a few more days of testing.......
took a snapshot while I was walking, couldn't believe how good the reception was at the moment, my girl's 4S also has 1 bar in the house, so AT&T is having issues locally it seems.......
Image

do you have the same picture in resolution that fits? on a 5 it is way too zoomed. thanks

Seems to be hit and miss. Major cities seem to be fine, outskirts no. Still waiting for my phone. UPS screwed me again and didn't deliver it. Drivers complaining about being overworked because of Sandy. Hopefully today.

Man, what a disappointment. You'd think these guys would have learned from their past mistakes. I have the Draco IV and lived with the noticeably reduced signal since I live in the DC metro area. I wouldn't even consider this case if LTE is as widely affected as everyone is reporting.

They probably only tested the 3g signal and not LTE because they didn't have compatible LTE service when they were doing testing. I've asked on their FB page if they tested both or not. I'll let you guys know if I get a response.

I have a feeling you're right, I think these were tested and developed in Japan which doesn't have LTE at the moment is that correct? They should have added composite pieces over the antennas on the sides, they claim on their website that the antennas are on the top and bottoms but you can clearly see antennas in the same spots as they were on the iphone 4 and 4s I don't feel like they know what their doing, why not just buy a 15 dollar aluminum case and get the same results. I had pre-ordered this and cancelled my order and now waiting for my Sector 5 invite.

We had done the LTE testing in Singapore... no issue for us here with the Draco 5 on.

You just said in your last post you don't have access to LTE, the way you worded that message makes it look like you're somebody affiliated with Draco and bsing us because bad reviews on here are lowering your sales.

Oh, he is not affiliated to Draco :)
I was the one who tested the LTE reception. I only took a screenshot in iOS. Will post later today an actual picture with the LTE in full bars in Singapore's CBD.

Here's the link to my post last Monday though.

I'll keep you posted.

sorry I have no relationship to Draco...

When I say we mean those group of Draco 5 users in Singapore Forum (as stated by speedster4005) whom are also posting our result testing on signal.

I'm also a Draco 5 user and also share the same concern...

I cant state for USA but in Singapore we are not really affected by Draco 5 signal issue.

Hope that help clear the air...
