The German word "ist", which - not hard to guess - translates to "is", for some reason gets autocorrected. iOS will capitalize it for me, but I have no idea what the abbreviation IST might stand for. And it makes some sentences look weird because caps look like I am stressing something. Like this one: I don't think going to the movies tomorrow IS a good idea. But it WAS one?!

If you regularly have trouble with an Autocorrection, I think you can just type it four or five times in a row to teach Autocorrect how you spell it.

Eg. Haha haha haha haha

And you cancel the wrong suggestion each time. If you do this, it sorts out the annoying Autocorrects for each word. Doesn't take long.

Of course that won't help those typing in multiple languages.

Third party keyboards is going to be such a relief. In Swype for Android you can long press on any suggestion to immediately remove it from the dictionary, or open the list of added words and delete anything you want manually. Hopefully it comes out for iOS and has the same functionality.

I've noticed that autocorrect has been really strange for me lately on beta 4. Changing words after I've written them to things that make no sense. It's really frustrating because I prefer having it on. Not quite ready to reset my dictionary because then it has to relearn all the weird stuff I type.

But having a keyboard with no autocorrect/suggestions makes typing incredibly tricky on a smartphone.

Not true. You have to get used to it. I'm from Luxembourg, and our native language is only spoken by 300.000 people, so no autocorrect for us. I can still type very fast on my iPhone.
