I would still call if your local store says they are in stock. When the 3g came out I used this database and the closest store to me (about 45min away) said in stock. It was mid-morning on a Sunday so I drove over and was there 15min after they opened. None in stock. Needless to say I was pretty pissed.

it's still good to call ahead even if the online tool says the store has them. Sometimes the stores run out or sell out and the tool is not updated right away, Still best to call ahead.

Actually There are only 4 Stores that Don't have them

The Apple Store in the Mall of America, in Bloomington, MN is closed for renovations, which gives the false notion that it doesn't have any.

Damn, I'm going to the Minneapolis, MN store (in the Mall of America) soon. It's a big trip for me (4 hours) so I'd be bummed if they didn't have any 3GS's or anything!!

anyone else notice stores running out of the phones?

are there monday shipments or something? im starting to get nervous...

couldnt find any ATT stores with them in stock and now apple stores around me dont have them in stock..

whats going on??

Many of the New Jersey stores are almost, if not, sold out of iPhones according to the availability thing. The one store I plan on going to is fully stocked but probably because it's closed on Sundays. I'm really hoping for Monday shipments because I don't feel like journeying into the city for my phone, haha.

Oh and they have no idea when they get delivery's or what they get delivered.

that I actually believe. I mean think about it. If you wanted to score big and steal a load of phones or computers what better way to do it than to be or have an insider that can tell you exact when a huge shipment is going to show up. but if the staff doesn't know they can't tip anyone off.

just like how the store staff will tell you that they get product announcements at the same time as the public, not before. If I wanted to spy on what the company was up to, getting hired at a store would be a perfect way. and the company probably assumes that folks would think of this and really doesn't tell the stores what's going to go down.

Not accurate

Well, it would be nice if the database worked. The Apple store in Dallas had no iPhones except the 32g white but the database said they had all models in stock. The staff person said the online database doesn't know existing inventory, just what models they sell. I hope she was wrong or the db is worthless. Oh wait, it was worthless anyway. I wasted a 60 minute drive.

Go old tech and call.
