I'm 68, and have an iPhone 5.

Of course, as is frequently pointed out by many poster regarding old people and electronics...I have no idea how to use it.

I like to look at the pretty pictures on it, and the new pretty colors on it now...while carefully drooling out of the side of my face so as no to get the drool on the pretty phone.

Soon, I will hire a young person to come and show me how to turn it off, and do the battery filling up thing...and maybe make a call. I'm not sure that I can handle all those other things the pretty pictures on it do...:p

 ;) :D

+1 Another old dude. Made me laugh.

Im 28 and using an iPhone 5!

My first phone was the nokia 3210, everyone seemed to have that phone in my school. The changeable covers were almost as awesome as Snake!

I am 49 and have a 5s, iPad 4, 15" MBPr, my wife is a few years older than me and has a 5, iPad 3 and 13" MBPr. Our kids are 11 and 15 and have iMacs, iPhone 5 (15 year old), ipad mini's.
We love our Apple products. Being in business a lot are tax right offs and the kids get them when we upgrade hence the 09 imacs and iphone 5 they have.

My parents 72 and 68 were given a iPad for a present and love it. they don't use their windows computer anymore.

Technology isn't age related it's if you have a interest in it. A lot of older people give up on it. I have a brother 47 who couldn't even send a email. Just not interested.

My first mobile phone was the brick motorolla and then the smaller flip one and before that the fixed in car handset one.

This age make-up survey of MR posters totally explains the high number of silly/ridiculous/childish thread postings - here I thought the average age would be well above 21 - seems not.

29, been using the iPhone ever since the original came out, before it was released in Australia I got it from Ebay and used a jailbreak/unlock to use it here.

I'm 65. Got my 5s today. Also had 3, 3G, 4, 4s and 5. Have iPad, ipad2, ipad 3, iPad 4 and a mini. First cell phone was a bag phone, and first portable item with keyboard was the original Blackberry. Also have a MacBook Air, but use it very little.

Is no one else bothered by hapless distribution of the age brackets? Can we get some regularity here?

33
:)

edit: I've owned every iPhone since the original in '07

Old enough to remember the Motorola "iTunes" ROKR phone (2005 i believe). Three good things about its chunky little candybar self: it was small and sturdy, and had great call quality. The external speaker for music output was nothing to write home about. I think it needed an audio adapter to use earbuds.

OK I'm also old enough to remember landline phones with no dials on them. You picked up and listened for a real live human to inquire if you wanted to place a call. Yeah, of course they listened in, too.... even back then.

24 here with a 5s Ive been having cell phones forever but fondly remember the tracfone like it was yesterday, minutes were SOOOO EXPENSIVE and I would just waste them sometimes just sitten around with my friends and giving test calls to the house phone lol Another one I remember most was that little blue siemens phone with the orange backlight.

Who cares? It's not like an age was left out. It's just to see a general age of the forums, not to make a scientific evaluation

19 here almost 29. Have had every iPhone since the 3GS. Currently have a gold 5S!

Hmm. After further consideration, I should've adjusted my answer to be the average age of the iPhone users in my house. My wife and I both have iPhones, as do all my kids. That would skew the number a bit.

I'm 47 and first learned how to write code on an Apple IIe with 128K of RAM and two 5.25" floppy drives.
