Picking up my 42mm ceramic tomorrow. Still toying with the idea ion AppleCare. Never had Apple care before because i have never had a problem or dropped a phone. Is applecare worth it as this is a £1300 watch?

I went for it, just for piece of mind. Since ceramic can shatter if dropped, I figured if I hit the watch in the wrong way it might break.

CC just got charge, mine is supposed to be delivered next week...but I'm still not sure I can swallow the almost 1400 with taxes for a watch. I almost cancelled my order a couple of times for that reason, but I guess at this point I will see how it looks before making my final decision.

I would get Apple care. I have always done that, and it's just a good idea. You would hate to think you messed up a $1300 watch.

When did you order yours?

Keep checking my order but still no movement :( Wish I had of ordered the ceramic originally, would probably have it by now.......

You definitely would have. I preordered day one, and got it 3 days after launch. I bet you see some movement soon.

I ordered right when pre-orders opened and got it launch day. It's the most expensive watch I'll ever own, but it's absolutely gorgeous. I'm usually not a big fashion guy but it's really nice.

I'm quite worried about resell value though on this one. My 42mm series0 sport in perfect condition only went for $190. :( Maybe this one will be usable for 2 years. Then it's not quite so extravagant. I hope Apple doesn't release their third generation in 12 months.

I think you will not see it hold value. Its not like a movement watch. If version 3 is substantially better, then version 2 will sink like a stone.

Enjoy it and forget about resale. Like most apple things...the only winner is Apple.

As they cost $1799 here in Australia I really didn't want to spend that much on an Apple Watch so that's why I originally pre ordered the stainless as it is half the price. But the more I looked at pictures of the ceramic and then saw the display at Apple I knew I had to have one! Hate to think what the resale value is going to be like though :(

Haha you can't think like that. Just enjoy it while you have it. It's a whole lot more fun that way.

This 100%. I still bought it knowing this but this is the truth. Watch 0 to this gen is not a big difference and the series 0 sold for pennies. I could only get 200 for my stainless steel and it only sold after a few days sitting at that price. This will be worse

I just kept my first gen. I like keeping all my old tech.

Yup, this may be the plan for the ceramic. It'll still be amazingly good looking in a year or two. I'll probably give it to my wife, and then maybe it'll be the push she needs to drop Android and go iOS. She was interested in my series0 until she realized it needed an iPhone to work properly.

What? So you can't iMessage your wife? That's a bummer.

Ok so I have got mine and i have to say that it is stunning to look at....but the strap seems to be loose on both sides. It wiggles up and down quite a bit. I have tried two other straps and they seem to be the same with eh watch. I am not sure if this is supposed to be this way. My two SS models have always been tight as a drum.
Anyone else have the same issue? I will call Apple support and arrange an express replacement under Apple care providing they have any and if that one is the same then i will just live with it.

My sport bands are looser (not loose as in going to fall out) as well. I returned mine to Apple for the Hermes version. Couldn't be happier. But good luck with your Edition.

Yeah I hope to keep mine around for several years. It looks so good, and hopefully it will run for years to come.

I thought the pictures looked pretty awful myself. The other side of the Watch is even more noticeable. I swapped bands 3 times in 7 days. I never imagined a $1,299 Watch would show such wear for such a scratch proof material.

Well I can tell you that my stainless steel bowls will leave marks on ceramic plates. It the stainless rubbing off on the ceramic, not the ceramic scratching in that case. The marks can be removed with an acid based cleaner you would not want to use on the watch.

Upon their request, I have sent photos and a video to Apple because the strap is absurdly loose. If I don't get a satisfactory solution then i shall return to my local store for a refund. I still have an online order processing and will wait for that to come through. If it is the same then i will live with it and put it down to that fact that its a non-metallic caseing

That wouldn't bother me because you wouldn't see the marks as they would be hidden by the strap

After 2 weeks of lurking on forums and you tube unboxings... I pulled the trigger and ordered one last Wednesday (9/28); and its coming tomorrow!!!!! I can't wait ugh today will be the longest day. I also got apple care. I have never bought apple care before but I figured it was a good investment this time around.
