But usb A to micro usb? Why? Why not usb c both ends like the A1? I wish they'd make their minds up!

If you prefer a warm sound signature, you don't go with B&O. They aim for a flat / natural sound, not warm. There are a few exceptions like BeoPlay H8 which feature a warmer sound signature.

I love and prefer flat and spacious sound. That's why I have the Sennheiser HD800 at home and prefer B&O BeoPlay H7 as wireless headphones (I also own Bose QC35 (my preferred ones for plane rides due to ANC), BeoPlay H8 and H9) and I prefer the H7 because they have the most flat sound signature with the most spacious, crisp and clear sound stage of them all. Nowhere close to the HD800, but you won't get HD800 quality on closed-back headphones.

I'm thinking about getting a pair of H9 to replace my Sennheisser Momentum, mainly because of the wireless and noise cancelling. Is the noise cancelling any good in those, and how's the sound quality? (I will of course try before buying, but it's nice to know how they perform in real life, not in a store.)

I agree, that's why I never purchased a pair, but Sony have just announced the v2 of the MDR-1000X, so may take a second look...
Indeed. And I am also curious about those noise cancelling earbuds they announced. Short battery life aside, if the ANC is on par with the rest of the line, those could be awesome.

That's exactly the brand they were referring to. :)
Then don't buy their products, or visit sites that mostly feature news about those products.

I don't like Samsung phones. I don't go to websites that are focused on their products. I also don't waste a lot of time worrying about what someone else is buying. If product X makes them happy then that's what they should buy.

I prefer the sound from the BeoPlay H7 over the H9. They feel more spacious, flat and natural. The BeoPlay H9 feature a warmer sound signature. When it comes to ANC I don't find it to be all that great. It do help somewhat in terms of removing background noise but they do not compare to Bose QC35 and Sony MDR1000X, not at all.

The lacklustre ANC was the biggest disappointed for me with the H9. I don't feel it adds anything when it perform as weak as it does. And the microphone is really bad on all of them (H7, H8 and H9) which is another disappointment. They all sound good, and the bluetooth performance is stellar but they do lack the same "seamless" multi-point/multi-device feature that Bose has on their QC35 which makes it really easy to switch between multiple devices. B&O claims they offer something similar, but it doesn't seem to work at all on any of my headphones and I update the firmware regularly.

Will these be able to skip songs? I use AirPods on my daily bike ride but having Siri skip songs only works with only about a 25% success rate(I've actually yelled into them "next f*cking song" in frustration MANY times, actually worked a few times too!) Sound quality is worse than my Bose SoundSport in-ear headphones. And by the way, to the smartass trying to be clever hating on Bose. Sooooooo clever!!! Go Apple?! Brand loyalty and brand hate, awesome bro!

Edit: I believe iOS 11 will make it possible to skip songs with a tap for the AirPods. If they don't I'm definitely getting rid of mine.

Edit 2: Touch controls: https://www.beoplay.com/products/~/media/3BFFD54E845541E490A83E1F74608173.ashx maybe update the article to show this information? It is possible also to skip songs and change volume. Yes, double the price as the AirPods ($400 CDN) but if it they sound better and work better at doing basic things: skip song/raise volume, I may consider them.

I have a pair of JBL wireless which I love because the left/right buds are connected by a cable that just hangs over the back of your neck. But if your ears get tired or you need to take them out for some reason they just hang around your neck. I only use them for audio, don’t care about access to smart assistants. The only thing I don’t like about them is the slight audio latency when watching video. But I assume that’s commen with many BT headphones.

Not enough people knock Bose, you mean. I'll take a $20 pair of Sony's over Bose, any day. At least then I know I'll have paid a reasonable amount for a logo slapped on top of cheaply made internals.

Sorry dude. That’s like saying Apple use cheap internals but we all pay silly prices for their products.

Hey enjoy your $20 Sonys I know the QC35 Will found better and if my cheap internals stop working I’ll get a replacement on their 2/3 year warranty booom!

Except Apple doesn't and Bose does. Google is your friend.

I was speaking solely of their cheap construction, but the following breaks down the science of their bad sound:

Thanks for the info. Generally I do prefer a warmer sound to the neutral, flat sounds (which is why I generally like Sennheisers alot. A shame about the ANC though, but it's good to know the bluetooth works flawlessly. The microphone I don't care about, but thanks for mentioning it. I've never gotten accustomed to speaking on the phone with headphones on, as I can't figure out how loud I'm talking, so even when I've had headphones plugged in and the phone is ringing, I would take of my headphones, plug them out and answer.

I'm still waiting to see though if they announce an updated pair soon. I've also looked at the new Sony's, but I must admit to some vanity, and the B&O just looks better...

Written in 2001. Not going to read that today. It has no relevance to how Bose do their things today. Just like in 2001 there was no iPhone. You cannot compare a Mac from 2001 to a model today either.

Bose are great. They are great for my mother who walks into a store, buys it, plugs it in, auto tunes it and she has surround sound. They are great for people who want great sound / sound better than their TVs without the headpache of setting it up.

They are clearly doing something right as they are still going strong are they not? This focus was on headphones and QC35s are probs the best headphones in the market with ANC.

Im out.

I also want great sound, which is why I'll never buy Bose. I'd say something like, 'mic drop' but then it might fall through one of their cheap paper speakers.

You need to calm the f*ck down. Just because I confirmed what another poster was referring to, doesn't mean I feel the same way. I love Apple products, which is why I'm here. So ****.

I tried a set of B&O earbuds a couple of years ago and was suitably impressed. Arguably a bit overpriced, but definitely a quality piece of equipment. AirPods unfortunately just don't offer the sound quality I've come to expect from modern earbud designs from companies like RHA, so I'll definitely be trying these out once they're available.

Your one those people... :p I used to have an insane amount of money in a HT/music system. I was forever playing with sound levels, adjusting angle of speakers...Kinda like how I got tired of rooting my Android phones.

I will admit that I loved my HT and enjoyed the tinkering for a while. B&K and Klipsch!!!!

Now I just enjoy the music and movies. Kinda like my iPhone...:)

Oh I'm not saying that you gotta get to an audiophile level with things, I just don't like seeing someone spend hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars on anything, when they could spend half and get something even better.

As for your Android adventures, I rooted and tweaked and ROM'ed... just to try to get a day out of a single charge. I realized it was a fruitless effort and came back where I belong.

Also. *You're. :p

I agree with you... Bose for example spend a crazy amount on advertising and product placement in stores. People assume they are the best because of this, but there are many better alternatives out there, of better build quality and for cheaper. It's just about giving people the knowledge to investigate themselves, rather than just falling for clever marketing. I can see you're just trying to help people.

If they have a wire connecting them they are not wireless.

I have been waiting for B+O to enter this market. Having had the Bragi Dash for 18 months now I can't wait for a bigger company to get going with this sort of unit. The freedom of true wireless is brilliant.
