I really hope BTS starts tomorrow. Im in need of a laptop for school and i would like to have some sort of freebie with my $2000 computer. I want a 15" rMbp.

If bts starts today it wont start until pst since apple is in California. It would most likely start at like noon
Won't be noon because the east coast stores would be open already. They won't put out ads in the middle of the day.
Dude...why would Apple announce a promotion at 12:40 AM? They sleep too... lol
Doubt its going to be tomorrow but if its it'll probably be announced at like 9:00AM PST.

Which Mac are you guys planning to purchase? I'm purchasing the new MacBook Air 13" with Intel Core i7.If they announce it today, it would be at 9PDT. That's in 3 hours. I really want to purchase my MBA too

Is it normal that we have not heard anything about it prior to today? I can't remember how they have announced it in the past few years.
I think it is normal. Apple doesn't like to give out information prior to the release of the product, or in this case promotion.
Just did another live chat. The person said he still hasn't received word but I am still anxiously waiting!!
Let's say that the promotion doesn't come out today. Should I buy my MBA 13" with i7 from Apple or buy it from B&H Photo and save about $25? If I buy from Apple I would be able to receive the promotion if it comes out in the 14 day return period, but If I buy it from B&H I wont. Also If I buy from B&H I will receive Parallels Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac for free.
I had one of the Haswell MBA's with a crooked lid (it was bad) and fluctuating volume defects, so my vote would be (if you can) to wait and not to buy the MBA until they get the speaker volume issue fixed and a verified solution to the well-published WiFi issues.
Either way, it's hard to beat Apple's return policy and to me that's well worth a $25 premium. If you have to return it though, take it to an Apple store if you can. Their mail return service is one of those USPS hybrid services (Smart Label) that is just awful.
Parallels for free is a good deal, but doesn't sway the decision for me.

Getting a 15" MacBook Pro Retina. I was waiting on a card to arrive before ordering, which tied in with WWDC - so was excited about Haswell, but nothing, so I held out a little longer for BTS and I'm giving up now. As soon as I have some time I'm going into get it.
For everyone that is buying the new MBA and wanting the back to school deal, I say you wait. I just bought my MBA from bestbuy, the 4gb/128 storage and with their college deal it came out to $999 (and they just took $5 more off so it would come to $995), whereas apple was selling it for $1049 including the education discount. Since I was saving $50 and figured I dont really need the speculated giftcard or ipad mini I just decided to buy it. The laptop was absolutely terrible. It disconnected every 2 minutes from wi-fi and after research I realized the issue is widespread. After spending an hour on the phone with applecare the guy said that it was possible that it was a hardware issue and to go back to best buy and get a new one. This 2nd MBA is having the same issue, just not as often. This computer would be so great if it worked properly. I'm considering returning it, but think I will wait out the 14 days to see if thye fix the issue. Don't waste your time with the new MBA, just wait it out until they fix all the bugs and you can possibly collect on the BTS.
Yeah I was thinking about that too, wait for the wifi problem to be solved... Maybe they are still busy fixing the wifi problem and the screen flickering thing when running photoshop so the bts promo is not ready to be launched?
The screen flickering issue may not be isolated to just the Airs when working with Adobe apps. Someone mentioned that it happened on their Windows PC with Windows 7 too.
The other issue that is present on the Air though are apparently some speaker issues.
