Let's see pic's of it. I would like to see how bad it really is.

Best pic i could get with my phones camera. But you can definetly see the light leak. Looks alot worse in person.

I didn't mean to come across rude, sorry! I understand the 700.00 part but Apple will probably say within spec's. By the way yours looks like my iPhone did with a yellowish tint. After a few days of use it went away. Glue issue, post if it clears up.

No worries my friend! Didn't come across rude at all (don't you just love the personal nature of the internet?). But yeah I'm hoping mine is just the glue issue.

I have serious doubts that "a glue issue" is whats causing this.

yellow spots - maybe/yes

backlight bleed - no - it's a problem that ain't gonna magically fix itself.

Like I said in an earlier post my iPhone looked like that for a few days and cleared up a lot supposedly it was a glue issue. Wait a few day's, you have 14 days to return.

Can you return/exchange online orders in store?

I understand, all I was saying is the pic he posted looked yellowish to me.

Apple has a 14 day return policy with no restocking, also I was typing when you added to your post about a scratch or nic. I would definitely send it back if it indeed came that way.

I mean if you ordered online can you go to the physical store and return/exchange it..?

yup. it came with the aluminum scratch. the awkward thing is. that on the target thread another 2 ppl posted that they also have the nick. so like idk now.
+ i doubt target has stock. i'll just abuse the iPad then return it later on

Damn. Just saw and read through this whole thread. On one hand, I'm pretty bummed to hear about all the light bleeding. It seems somewhat common.

On the plus though, I'm very happy to have read this thread. This means I get to sleep in tomorrow instead of trying to get to the Apple Store early tomorrow to try to get one. Just like a I did today, to no avail (only had white ones and 16gb ones, even though I was only 6th back in the line). I was going to go wait again tomorrow, but I'm not spending hours waiting for an iPad 2, only to have a decent chance it may have light bleed. Will wait it out 3-6 weeks and see if the problem is fixed. If so, get one when I don't have to wait in line. Or if they still have the light bleed problem, wait another 6 months, since it seems the iPad 3 will be out in Fall/Winter this year people seem to think.

Even though I know I'll be getting a new one, I'm real pissed. Apple truly needs to slow down and get some better quality control going on. First iPhone 4's and their pile of issues, now this. I got mine at Best Buy as well as got their protection plan so I know there will be no issue, though I will try the Apple store as well for a replacement.
This is what mine looks like

As someone that works for Best Buy, you may want to exchange that at best buy. Pretty sure your protection plan is voided, since you are getting a new serial number from apple. Seen this happen a few times and seen angry customers.

P.s.
Getting the backlight issues here too, planning to exchange if it doesn't get better

Horrible quality apple products

My ipad 2 32gb wifi 3g black that i bought yesterday had it worse than the pictures showed here,i had to wait in line four hrs for it,plus we had to drive 75 miles just to get to the nearest apple store, plus i am in a wheelchair and disabled and suffer severe chronic pain so it was not the funnest experience for me,luckily the store was in a mall and we went to eat something and since i had my macbook air with me i got it out to activate and played with it,and as soon as seeing the severe bleeding i was pissed, after waiting all those hrs,i took it right back and got my money back,it also felt cheap and not as well made as ipad 1,yea it has cameras and a slight speed boost, but to me it was not that much of a difference,it felt and looked like a gigantic ipod touch,Apple is known for high end quality and products but this is just atrocious, they just rushed these to get them out and obviously quality control went out the window, for $500 and up no one should get a substandard product, and i love apple products,i sold my 16gb wifi ipad months ago in anticipation of getting this,i was so excited.Well since there has been such a tremendous discount on ebay and other sites i found on ebay a new 32gb wifi + 3g for $420 and bought it,that's a $300 difference.Until they can get these issues resolved and improve the quality on it,i'll stick with gen 1,much better quality and the price can't be beat,i just wish i hadn't wasted all that time i am so unhappy about it,my sister bought a white 16gb wifi 3g and hers had bleeding too! come on Apple! i mean Good gracious quit rushing stuff and forgetting quality.

Since it's actually dark now, I decided to take a few more shots. Is the exchange/return policy 14 days or 30 days at the apple store?

If there is a hardware defect it is 1yr. ..... I swapped out an iPhone 4, I got mine over 6months ago and the home button was no reacting on every touch. They gave me another iPhone no questions asked.

Ya but that is warranty replacement, which is considered a refurbished unit according to the serial number. What I'm looking for is actually a retail replacement. I'm not going to accept a refurbished serial on my second or third day of ownership of a brand new piece of hardware.

The white 64 gb Att 3g that I had purchased also had this issue it was very noticeable right out the box. Being as this was my first ipad I thought maybe it was normal. I returned my Ipad to BB ended up ordering another through Apple hopefully the new one won't have this problem too.

Similar issues. Some major backlight leakage, stuck red pixel in the middle of the screen and random flickering during the boot sequence.
