They'll get it back. That's happened to me a few times, sometimes because of a bed rep, sometimes because of me, and the back office team has always gotten my plan back in a week or so.

Why did you goto your carrier to fix a problem with the Apple watch? Why didn't you goto Apple?
Did you read? OP said he was in an Apple store while on the phone with AT&T. Apple was also working on the problem.

There are only two reasons why I'd consider their Unlimited Plus plan. One is I could use my phone and iPad as a hotspot and the second is I wouldn't have any additional fees if my iPad uses more than 5GB. It's $165 before taxes and fees so that probably turns into about $180.00. Subtract the $25 for the discount that goes toward my DTV bill. That would bring it down to $155. Still about $20.00 more than I pay now. I prefer my old unlimited plan.

T-Mobile is the way to go

A lot of people like the carrier they are with but are there any that much better or worst than the others? Speed and coverage is very important to me. I'll pay a little extra to have that. Some people just look at price then they find that they have slow download speeds or drop calls all the time.

Never.. Give up.. Your unlimited data.. Ever.

Yeah, I don't get that. I had the same basic plan described above: 450 minutes/UDP/Unlimited texting and a 21% fan. I'm now paying $5 more a month, and getting tethering on my phone and free HBO, which allows me to stop paying Cox for it, for a net win of $7 a month.

Easy call.

I dumped my AT&T grandfathered UDP in favor of the Unlimited plus plan. Paying the same amount with tethering and roaming in Canada/Mexico included. No brainer to switch. They kept on increasing the price of the legacy UDP anyways.

I got both so I'm good

You factoring in free HBO?

I would also recommend a switch to T-mobile. Their coverage is actually pretty good in populated areas and cities. It’s only when you head out to rural areas where service gets spotty. I switched from ATT because of how expensive they are. When I switched, T-mobile had a $100 plan for 2 lines with unlimited everything including 7GBs hotspot for each line.

We added two iPads, 20 dollars per iPad for 5GB of data for each iPad.
Where I live I get 2 bars of signal and get speed of about 35Mbps.

If things dont go well with ATT, I would suggest you at least check out some of the T-mobile plans.

I know its been mentioned in here, but the data is not shared, each line gets 22GB on the new unlimited plans (both choice and plus). My sister uses 20GB a month, I use 10-15GB and my mother uses 3-4GB a month. None of us have ever once been throttled and my sister gets the text monthly about the 22GB limit.

Keep us posted on the outcome.

Your mistake was believing the rep.

What you should have done was to say you will think about it. Then call them several times more over the next week to corroborate if they were telling the truth or not.

it may be too late for you. A shame.

There is nothing the rep said was incorrect. The data is 22GB per device and not shared. Additionally, its up to the OP to verify what he is switching to before he agrees to do so. Just going on AT&T's website shows the two unlimited plans the differences between the two.

"After 22GB of data usage per line in a bill cycle, AT&T may slow data speeds on that line during periods of network congestion, for the remainder of the bill cycle. Visit att.com/broadbandinfo to learn more about AT&T network management policies."

I didn't include that. I know it adds value but I already have to many ways to watch movies and not enough time. (Netflix, iTunes, Amazon and DTV programming).

I've heard it both ways. The guy I spoke with yesterday said it's per device and then I talked to someone else there that said it's shared. The info on their website also said it's shared. Confused...

Look at my above post, the information on their website says per line.

I didn't read the opening post completely ...but the OP is paying more now than before...yes?

What was communicated wrong then?

I've read the opening post a couple times, hard to fully digest the big blocks of text, but I believe the OP is claiming that he was told the information was per line and found out its shared, but when in fact it is per line. And I guess the OP didn't know there were two different unlimited plans.

Tether, HBO, HD streaming, full LTE speed v. 3Mbps speed.

By the way, I just priced Verizon and for 1 iPhone, 1 iPad and 1 Apple Watch, it's $120 per month for their Beyond Unlimited Plan.

Correct. I didn't know about that. I just thought there was one plan or that the plan he was putting me in was a modern version of what I was using. Not a stripped down, extremely slow version. I'm trying to find the comparison I was looking at yesterday. It was on the AT&T site and showed the two plans. Each said the data is shared.

I'm not about to read this thread from beginning to end :D

But would one of the unlimited plans the OP was told have been the right one? And he picked the wrong plan?

Or was he better off staying on his grandfathered plan all along?

But its not shared. The link that I provided that shows the comparison clearly states per line.
