So, let me get this straight: Apple, the most valuable publicly traded company in the world, who stands to lose billions with even the slightest hiccup, decides not to properly test Apple Pay before releasing it into the wild? Ok, then.

ApplePay is probably not at fault here, Bank of America is....

However, you seem to imply that softeare with ANY bugs is not properly tested. Hmmmmm.... Name ONE properly tested application then.

Stop being such a spineless apologist. This is people's money. If Apple want to get in the business of replacing people's wallet they damn well better make sure they do it properly.

Hmm.. maybe you have a knee jerk reaction. There is absolutely 0 proof this is Apple's issue. Together, lets stop and use some common sense here. So of all banks involved at launch only 1 has an issue and of those more than likely thousands on thousands using this feature, a few hundred are having problems. So the problem is small and only occurs with a single bank. And lets remember those banks are the ones that do the processing, on their side.

So with those hints in mind, where would you start your trouble shooting? Please, lets here an answer on that.

As pointed out above, http://recode.net/2014/10/22/bank-of-americas-apple-pay-glitch-should-be-fixed-today/

just another quality/polished app from you friends at apple lol..
think i'll just stick with my trusty old google wallet for now.

Uh, what? This has nothing to do with an app or the implementation. It's people on the retail side that have to know how to deal with contactless payments.

I was attempting sarcasm. I find it laughable that people are assuming that Apple doesn't care about testing it's software anymore and use this BoA flap as proof of that.

And it has already been fixed...

Thankfully it was just for a bag of Combo's bought at Walgreens, literally 10 minutes after installing 8.1, and adding the debit card to :apple:Pay in my iPhone. I called BofA immediately after I saw the double charge, but at that time it was still 'Processing' so they couldn't do anything about it. Also, since it was so early on, they couldn't really diagnose where the problem was. Glad to see it wasn't simply user error on my part.

Bank of America already credited my affected account yesterday (10/21), one day after the issue occurred.

all i can tell you is my personal findings with certain apps, and so far my google wallet and softcard apps work without any issues using the same card and banking info

really i am using the same cards and banks as i do with my google wallet and softcard app on my note4 and i have no issues with using them.

And many Apple Pay users appear to be having the same success as you're having with google wallet.

Why won't apple pay be successful as people hope? Because a lot more people use Android phones and older iPhones that don't support nfc.

Google: "Don't be evil".

How's that working out?

That's a corporate motto for their employees, not a marketing phrase used by Apple to get you to buy their stuff

"truly great products"
"we feel really great about this"
"culture of innovation"
"seamless integration of hw and sw"
"best product pipeline"
- Tim Cook, marketing robot who repeats the same phrases 20 times a year, even at conference calls

*Rambles about esoteric nonsense for 5 minutes*... "and the result is simply.... astonishingly.... beautiful"
- Jony Ive, guy who wants to make everything thinner

:apple::apple::apple:

lol...first glitch..

Its not a bug, its a feature :)

Apple Pay is smarter than I thought..

you may no longer have control over this now its "simple" to use.. its not like u need to select an account each time like u manually do...

hope this gets sorted.

After I made a purchase at whole foods I was charged 4 times for one purchase and B of A will credited it back.

Well, I *am* a software engineer, and I'm tired of the old "software-is-complex-it's-never-bug-free" excuse. We all know software is complex. But it's not a get-out-of-jail-free card, you execute honest due-diligence in testing, take responsibility for your bugs, notify your customers about the serious ones (like, ones that involve people's money), and correct them in a timely manner.

Your a "software engineer"? Hummm.. So YOU would guarantee YOUR software worked out of the gate at 220,000 different terminals and throngs of different processing systems that YOU have no control over???

That's a JOKE. Ya a joke!

It's obviously just a BofA processing problem.

Wouldn’t be first time :) In fact, my wife was the treasurer for a local [fashion] organization a few years ago who was using BOA, and processing event tickets with a standalone machine, had all sorts of billing/processing issues (after the multiple hours it took to get the machine up and running).

Didn't involve Apple...

Nope. BTT I saw this circulating, the source of the issue had already been ID’ed, but of course, that was after all the click revenue was generated :D

Just imagine if all credit card companies were in this same position...

any new tech will settle. but the problem is no one can wait....

Now u know better :)
