Worst movie of the year.
I can definitely agree with this

Really? 3 posts saying the same thing? Unnecessary. And as you've seen, no one here agrees with you.
Should he have gone on and written a 10 paragraph review explaining his viewpoints? This movie WAS really bad. From many angles. From the script to the acting to the characters to the style to the decisions the characters made that made absolutely no sense. To casting Jesse Eisenberg as lex luthor's (well I won't spoil it for you) but really, he's like a weird mixed portrayal of his time as mark zuckerberg with a little bit of joker thrown in. The parts where he was meant to be intimidating were like watching a little boy make baseless threads he has no intention of carrying out on. It just felt...pointless.

And the thing at the end? Well...multiple wtf moments at the end...

Spoiler alert!

You would think that would make the movie better....Sadly Snyder is signed for the rest of the Justice League series but on the flip side Affleck is directing the Batman movies.
I've actually been more impressed with affleck's directing than snyder's, so if Ben decided to direct his own batman movies, I'm all for it. Hopefully they won't go edgy for edgy sake like "look at me and how dark I can make this character isn't it awesome how dark I can make it omgggg" like...yeah that's cool but we still have to have some of the actual character intact. Maybe not so much batman walking around picking up guns and shooting people eh?

I agree with this. I think Affleck both as a director and as the Batman character would be interesting. Batman was IMO very well done in this movie. I also fear the same thing that they go dark and edgy for the sake of it.............it was a bit odd in this version of Batman seeing him shooting people left and right. Its very cliche for an anti-hero or dark hero, but I did like how conflicted Batman was about his whole role in fighting crime when he is essentially a criminal himself. I do feel that would be a good theme to keep going forward as it is 1 we haven't really seen yet in any Batman movie.

It was a highly anticipated movie. I expected too much from this movie. But It was a good movie, I would say. Not an awesome one.
Still if you are a superman or batman's hardcore fan, you may like it.

Quite possibly even more crappy than the Godzilla movie from 2014. It was simply awful.

What made you think it was that bad? I thought Godzilla was especially terrible, I at least found this one entertaining.

I wanted to shoot the guy playing Lex Luthor. He was painful. The plot was boring. I really don't think a movie is great solely if it has explosions and monsters and **** in it. Detonating a nuclear device in the atmosphere with no EMP effects... The rocket with the nuclear device acted like it was radar guided. Ballistic missiles don't arm themselves until they reach apogee and start their downward tracks to their targets. I mean come on, do some research.

However, Wonder Woman is a bad bitch, and aquaman was cool.

Given that for many the 2014 Godzilla was quite good, seems like there's quite a bit of hope for this one then. ;)

I was shaking my head in disbelief on EVERY single scene of that Godzilla movie. It was so pathetic I can't even begin to start. Say, everything in between the opening and closing segments?

Describes the 1990's version of it quite well.

Regardless if you think the movie sucked or not. Lets talk about how Batman kicked Superman's ass!

He kicked his ass. Good thing they both have a mom named Martha!

Sorry. I don't care why Snyder decided to use that and how it's supposed to mean something, that was a face palm moment. To make it worse is all the people trying to defend that moment in the film like it's supposed to be deep. Please.

I'm not defending that moment, I'm conveniently overlooking it to get into the story a little. :)

Because with all that time invested in being all mad at superman, you'd think it would take longer to convert someone with that deep an opposition. Batman is sentimental guy, what can I say? lol

Sorry, my comment wasn't directed at you. It was more about that moment in the film which I thought was absolutely ridiculous. And to have to read Snyder's reason for the "Martha moment" and fans backing it like it was supposed to be some deep message to humanize Superman and to a lesser extent Batman in that specific moment - no. It was stupid that it was enough to stop Batman from killing Superman.

The main reason Marvel really has the upper hand is they are owned by a better company than DC. Disney continues to have success managing legacy franchises, from Marvel to Pixar to Winnie the Pooh. They have the best promotion, the best project oversight, and the best ability to hire cast and crew.
Disney is good at what they do. But they have had a few failures, too. They have totally mishandled the Muppets. Many of the "hardcore" Star Wars fans are taking a wait and see attitude toward the new movies.

Bringing Pixar into the fold served to elevate recent Disney films far more than recent Pixar films (thanks to John Lasseter being named creative director). The saving grace seems to be when they keep units separate. Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilms seem to be allowed to operate somewhat independent of the Mouse. (Kind of makes me wonder what would have happened if Disney got Jim Henson and all of Henson Studios instead of just the Muppets after Jim died...)

Can WB function in the same way? Can they put people who love the properties in charge and let them go? Can the Execs let a lower grossing movie go and stick with the plan or are they going to get heavy handed when things don't go as they think they should?

It was rushed, the story was all over the place, Affleck was great and Im glad that they have officially announced that he is getting to write and direct HIS batman sequel/prequel. It was entertaining but I would like to see a proper finished cut of the movie rather than the slapped together version they released.

Going forward, sack Snyder, he can make great looking scenes by translating comic book cells to film but he is a terrible moviemaker. Hoping that Suicide Squad is much much better than this.

I think that's the difference between Marvel Studios and DC Entertainment right now at this moment. The personnel at Marvel are comic book fans at heart and it just so happens they're also good at making films. I don't know much about the personnel over at DC but it seems like they're more of the opposite - they have the ability to make good films overall but are they comic book fans that they can translate the material into film?

I said this before the movie even started shooting when he was brought in. I don't think they will though. I thought I read somewhere he was already working on the Justice League movie.

WB should have looked at Watchmen and Suckerpunch and said, yeah he is not our guy.

My biggest problem with the film was the Luthor, I felt they made his characteristics more toward that annoying Jim Carey Riddler than a cold, calculated, intelligent Luthor.

Flow of the movie was bad, add the fact that they did nothing to make me want to care about either Batman or Superman's point of view. It was just a bunch of scenes after each other. The fight was entertaining and was a spectacle but ended in a dumb way.

For me, it's an ok movie if it was a standalone but when you consider that it's supposed to move or add to the DCEU, it does nothing.
