15 Pro here. I really hate this.

I’ve been just texting and browsing this site and within 45 minutes, I’ve seen the percentage trickle down from 71 to 67. Terrible.

Meanwhile, to test this, I did the exact same on a regular iPhone 15 - just texting and this site. In 45 minutes, percentage stayed at 73. Not a single drop.

Keeping the 15 and returning the 15 Pro. I can’t deal with this **** battery another year.
Apple really cheaped out on the 14 Pro and 15 Pro with the batteries. Mine is already at 88% health after a year. Constantly runs hot

Battery life feels better than my previous 13 Pro so nothing to complain about here. I can understand someone being disappointed if they upgraded from the 14 Pro though.
I switched too from the 13P. We will see. But my 13P battery was really bad the last couple of months with 90% health. Had to charge it during lunch to make it through the day. I also find it looses too much during standby. It's currently next to me with Wifi on but Airplane mode enabled. In 8h battery went from 100 to 90% with literally 0 min usage.

Here is a battery test by Mrwhosetheboss.

Spoiler: It (sadly) doesn't look good for the 15 Pro. I switched from the 13 Pro to the 15 Pro and hoped it would last longer.

Video:
What is amazing is how many people actually watch these clickbait UTube videos. I guess it is cheaper than Netflix for entertainment, but personally the sensationalizing and the generally non-existent science offend me.

I’ve been an iPhone user since the 6 and owned every model except the X

I’ve never been able to have a phone screen on for 45 minutes without the battery percentage dropping. A typical drop for me while surfing on WiFi has been around 1% every 7-10 minutes. That’s with the screen brightness around 20%

Im assuming we will get updates to fine tune the battery and after a few charge cycles it’ll be back to normal.

Either way my 12pro was at 79% battery health, lol so I’m fine either way

I mean, a 4% drop in 45 minutes of actual use equates to like 18+ hrs SOT. Lol.

Yeah, that's perfectly normal. The overall disappointment with the 15 Pro battery is understandable, but I also think some people just want to find problems.

Well, the thing is when I did the same activity for 45 minutes as well on my regular 15 to compare, the battery percentage stayed at 73% and did not drop. So the discrepancy threw me off. I know the regular 15 has a bigger battery but it’s crazy to me how fast the 15 Pro is draining relative to the 15.

Which means nothing. My old launch day iPhone 14 Pro Max is sitting at 100% right now.

iOS battery capacity is notoriously inaccurate. There are plenty of YouTube videos comparing phones with same % but wildly different runtimes.

I believe this. Cause iOS devices are the only devices that I‘ve experience, stick at 100% even after a good 5 minutes of usage. Which in my opinion doesn’t make any sense.

I noticed that using the camera warms my iPhone 15 Pro up a bit and drains the battery a lot faster than I’m used to.

That's because he's testing using old 14 and 13 phones, not fresh ones off the shelf. You can only trust the 15 results.
That would mean that the 14 and 13 would perform even better compared to the 15 if they were new.

All I know is that after two years my 13PM battery wasn’t great. So today, my 15PM was at 100 percent at 7 am and the phone has got me through the day through several long phone calls, internet usage, my daughters birthday party with a lot of photo/videos (eg high camera usage) and a couple of hours of the kids grabbing it to watch YouTube. In other words a fairly high usage day. Battery now at 52 percent. My 13 would be on its knees by now. That seems ok to me.
