Today was my first typical work day with the 15P

Start: 4 am
Now 7:30 pm

40%

4:35h SOT with 90 min screen off (music/podcast) -> Tapatalk, X, Facebook, Instagram, sports alert (live activity), shortcut, clash royal, iMessage, phone)

I have a screenshot from my then new 13P. Same first work day. Also start at 4 am.

Back then -> 39% with 4:40h SOT

Of course you can’t compare. 2 years apart but back then I had the same usage. I don’t change in my behavior. This time I was alone 20 min on my phone which drains battery more.

So it appears it’s nearly the same as the launch 13P which was the battery king back then. btw that was the first phone where I picked up the smaller version because battery life was enough for me.

Everyone knows the #1 rules in batteries is, no matter which battery you use, if your battery heats up, it dies faster.

The iphone 15 pro series has been confirmed to drain faster due to titanium, and so we can now say with 100% certainty that in around 6-9 months we will see hundreds of thousands of people asking why their battery life is suddenly so much worse. It'll be like the iphone 14 series but a lot worse. This is probably why Apple added a battery cycle counter only to the iphone 15 series, for warranty claims.

Zero battery issues on my iPhone 15 Pro after my first day. And I don't think the first day should even count since there is some extra stuff being done on the phone during the first 24 hours. I will be setting it to the 80% limit on charging and regularly top back up to 80% at some point during most days. Goal will be to rarely have the battery below 20% and I expect to achieve that goal 5 or 6 days a week. I'm expecting this to be a rock solid battery for years because it will rarely be stressed by being at 100% or being at below 10%.

But I am coming from a 12 mini. So that was a phone with some mediocre battery life.

i had a full charge this morning at 6am and now about to close the day out and I’m at 67% on my 15 pro with my normal daily use. This is day two of the phone being used with a restored backup. I expect it is still doing some indexing, etc. I had about 175 GB of data that I moved over from my old phone.

Battery life feels better than my previous 13 Pro so nothing to complain about here. I can understand someone being disappointed if they upgraded from the 14 Pro though.
Are you comparing a two year old battery in the 13 Pro to a brand new one in a 15 Pro? Call my cynical, but I believe many people make this mistake when gushing about how great their new phone's battery life is. People even buy a new phone to improve battery life because they don't know about the possibility of having it replaced in their current one.

My 15 P sits at 61% with 2:40h SOT and 44 min screen off.

My GF‘s 15PM at 59% with 2:12h SOT + 37 min screen off.

Weird.

So we have finally a good comparison.

15 Pro vs 14 Pro vs 13 Pro.

Every Phone has 100% battery health.

The winner will surprise you.

Until a video shows the battery cycle count, the tests are useless. Many devices show 100% after a year old.

At minimum, the old devices need to show the "Parts and Service History" screen so we know when the battery was last replaced.

Which I think proves the point that after 8 pages of procrastinating and arguing over battery life, too many variables can affect the result.

Also, as I recall this years OLED has a higher peak brightness. Despite using the same position on the brightness slider, how do these testers know for sure the brightness is the same across all devices. Using 100% is not the answer because peak brightness is much higher this year using more power.

I think people may be jumping the gun on the bad battery life of the 15 pro. We are on a brand new version of code which will likely provide further battery life improvements with future updates. I’m on day 4 with my 15 Pro and the battery life is fine.

My 15 Pro Max has been better than my 14PM; very similar to my 13PM back in the day. Seems to slowly sip battery.

Well I had a 13P before and looking back at my old battery screens it appears that both are about the same. It also looks like the 15 Pro is better than the 14 Pro. I heard already multiple youtubers and "normal" people saying that.

The last months I had to charge the 13 P twice (90% health)
My new iPhone 15 Pro has much worse battery life than my 14 Pro.

I’ve been hoping the same thing because my 15 pro is definitely worse than my 14 pro was.

Then something is not right. Looking back at my stats with the 13P they appear to be about the same.

I went from a 14 plus to a 15, and I’m shocked at how fast the battery drains. 2-3 phone calls, a few texts, deleting some emails, and tracking a baseball score and I’m down below 50% in only a few hours. Maybe once in a year did my 14plus go below 25%, but with my regular 15 it has happened every day. I can’t imagine someone that’s a more pro-user being satisfied. I feel like I start having battery anxiety at 2pm hoping I remembered a MagSafe charger or cable.

Instead of battery charge limiting, how about a slider to underclock the SOC a bit?

I’d rather take a 10% performance hit and be higher in the performance/watt curve and get 15% better battery life.

Maybe a 3 step slider, or some such:

Power Plan:
Battery Saver - Balanced - Performance
