4:50h SOT with 30% left. + 2:15h screen off usage
I would give it a couple days to figure itself and run background processing.
you would see 10h SOT with strictly optimized usage - wifi, half or less brightness, browsing. Any deviation would guarantee you 8h comfortable SOT, while heavy usage would be 6h SOT.
Inherently, pro max is levels better in this terms but comes at a cost of dollar amount and bulkiness. But expect +4hrs of additional SOT for max.

Battery life will varies per individual setup. I’m hitting 9 hours at 33% left.

When I use the Pro for 30-45 min each hour I would get similar stats. Had the same on the 13P. I once got 10h.

Most of the time 6-7h and the last months maybe 4-5h per day

Which is fine and strictly defined by your use case. I suspect you are not a heavy user.
I am also not. You would not be surprised to see me finishing the day with 30min SOT on my se2020 just to get battery from 100 to 10%. But once i pushed it to 10hrs of music and 7hrs of browsing.
In conclusion, the more you use it the more SOT you will squeeze as the phone just eats battery while sitting. So with low usage, you could end up with 5h SOT.
For example, my 14pm is used for 2 days with 3-4hr SOT. If you think then that is crazy small amount but that is how it goes when i charge once in 2 days and use it just for maps and time check in office.
Ps. Btw aod eats 2h sot so i would switch it off if you don’t need it.

When you don’t use the phone much it will still drain.

Battery life of the 15 PM of my GF. 1:18h screen on 64%. Unplugged at 6 am currently 9pm

My 15P arrives early October but these articles just make me want to cancel it, and book a battery replacement for my XR. At 5 years and 84% battery, it needs a top up or two during the day, but the first year I had it, battery life was absolutely ridiculous, easily getting me through a day and a half. If a new battery gives me that again, I might just opt to do that, wait for the 16P and save myself £1,000…

Unless you need the cameras or 5G, it makes sense to stay. The 15 won’t be radically different than the XR except those two areas. Next year is a form factor change so if you can hang on, I’d suggest that.

Just have a question about my old 13P.

I activated Airplane Mode with wifi on. In 19h battery droppef from 100% to 82% without a single use. Sure a few notification come still through (5-8) but is that normal?
What about background refreshes and notifications? Those are big battery killers, disable Wi-Fi on airplane mode and test.

Background refresh is always off. Notification maybe 10 max.

I just deleted an app and will track if that’s the drainer but it doesn’t appear in the battery stats so idk

Same here on iPhone 15 PM. Don’t know if I have a ghost app running in the background or so. Doesn’t show in the battery settings.

Had the phone like 7hours while sleeping not used and drains about 10% battery. But didn’t show up in Battery stats.

Also the phone is getting warmer when doing phone calls with good signal strength (same happens with WiFi calling getting warmer) and while doing a call noticeable draining battery faster.

Don’t know what to do. Had setup as a new phone with no iCloud data.. really disappointed

So going to bed with 8% left and 6:33h SOT. So easily 7h SOT with 20 min playing + 2:17h display off (music, live activity)

My only assumption is the 15 Pro battery size is still too small to benefit from the efficiency of the new 3nm architecture.
I don’t really follow you on this, how do you mean “battery size is too small to benefit from the efficiency…”?? The efficiency would have been really good for it, or?
I too would like a lower clock without sacrificing 120hz..
Isn’t Apple supposed to do this dynamic auto throttling here anyway?

Yes for sure, but you even came from only a limited 80% charge here it seams, even better!

Are you restoring from iCloud? Usually it takes a day or two for me to get all backed up. But I have around 200 GB data sync from iCloud.

I’ve been just texting and browsing this site and within 45 minutes, I’ve seen the percentage trickle down from 71 to 67. Terrible.

4% in 45min means almost 19hrs of continuous use. That’s not what I’d consider “terrible”…

There should be a threshold whereby the usage will take its toll on the battery, and the remaining battery juice left wouldn’t benefit from the efficiency of the chip.

Too thirsty going high throttle and nothing left afterwards… we all had higher hopes for the 3nm then this.

Want to give a quick update. I received the phone friday morning and did a clean start. No backup. Still from Sunday night to Monday morning there is still background stuff going on. In the battery stats I can see Photos and Message were active during the night. Maybe there is also stuff going on during the day?
