Hey everyone, I’m seeing some weird logic on my iPhone Air.

After some initial troubleshooting and resets, my cycle count was at 3. I started monitoring the cumulative energy consumption in the analytics to see when it would flip.

Mathematically, it should have hit cycle #4 at 100% discharge. However, it stayed on cycle 3 much longer than it should have. It went all the way up to 120% cumulative discharge, and only after increment to cycle 4.

Is this normal?

Thanks!

How long have you had it? Is it performing well? I'd give it a few months to see whether there's any pattern that affects usage or behaviour. Then, if you're not happy with the way it's performing, take it to an Apple Store.

Looking at numbers from analytics is the biggest cause of problems. 😀

This.

And OP, disable adaptive power on your iPhone and see if the performance normalizes.

Is your iPhone Air recently purchased? You may be able to exchange it if it’s still less than two weeks

Math can get... tricky 😉

IMO you're "Borrowing trouble" to assume there’s a problem because in your estimation it tripped 20% too late. Just use the phone.
