Using coconutBattery for Mac I am unable to check battery stats on both iOS10 beta 3 and beta 4 (iPhone 6S)
We're talking about battery stats a little bit more thorough than just what the OS gives you as a percentage. Can't you just look at the upper right corner and see the battery % remaining?

Have you tried Battery Life? They updated for iOS 10. Not sure what information is given as I'm not on iOS 10 at the moment.
Just tried and it worksthanks!
Only battery health and voltageIf you don't mind, what does it provide? Does it provide everything that the mac version of coconut did? Temp, health, cycles?

Confirmed on my side. Yeah. Better than nothing.I guess thats better than nothing :/. I'm assuming the Mac app just needs to be updated. At least I hope thats the case.
Not working for me either. Hmmm.Using coconutBattery for Mac I am unable to check battery stats on both iOS10 beta 3 and beta 4 (iPhone 6S)![]()

Edit:
Spoke too soon, it partially works, some information is lacking, see the photo attached.
Oh they shared some of their motives with me when my app was removed. It's all the usual Apple reasons, and coming from a real fanboy here, it's one of the things I hate most about them. What motive does Apple have to block this data anyway?
They probably sort of do have a point--or at least a decent general idea--behind that other aspect of it, as various threads like https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/battery-health-at-95-after-4-months.1985993/ would likely indicate.Oh they shared some of their motives with me when my app was removed. Basically, it goes against their motto of simplicity -- their products are supposed to "just work". Most battery data isn't easy to explain because it changes so randomly, and so they figure it's better to just hide it from end users. Obviously that doesn't apply to more straightforward items such as cycle count or power adapter amperage. Why they won't expose those values I really can't explain...
The other aspect of this is support/cost related. They're much better off only having to deal with customers that actually experience battery problems. They worry about customers walking into Apple stores and complaining about their battery health readings and such, possibly leading to an increased number of battery replacements under warranty, etc.
It sucks, but I don't see it changing anytime soon. You don't like it, get an Android...
Exactly. There are so many discussions like that around that you can easily see how access to this data just ends up promoting more confusion than not. They probably sort of do have a point--or at least a decent general idea--behind that other aspect of it, as various threads like https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/battery-health-at-95-after-4-months.1985993/ would likely indicate.
Coconut battery was working for me but stopped after I downloaded the El Capitan security update. Could that have blocked it?
I am on 3.4. Not sure what the issue is thenI'm assuming you're talking about the Mac app. Have you updated to Coconut 3.4? I'm running it on El Cap with the latest security updates, no issues.
Very weird. Maybe uninstall all together and redownload?I am on 3.4. Not sure what the issue is then
Just did it and it fixed it! Is it wrong this is the happiest I've been all week?Very weird. Maybe uninstall all together and redownload?
So, after downloading IOS 10 and discovering that Coconut Battery no longer worked, I deleted the app from my phone, my mistake. Question, can it be re-downloaded on my Iphone since I had previously purchased it, and how?
I'd be interested in tinkering with it. I have an old iPod Touch 5th gen stuck on iOS 9. At this point, I think the battery in it is in pretty bad shape.I get about a dozen emails a day asking about it, it really sucks. If you have a developer account and know how to use Xcode I'm happy to put the source code on GitHub for you and others to be able to use it (at least on iOS 9...)
Thanks!Coconut battery does not work on iOS 10. It doesn't even open. It crashes on launch. We are talking about the macOS app. To redownload, it should be in your purchased tab on the App Store or iTunes.
Hi echo1877,Until now there was no public API for developers to retrieve battery data such as cycles, battery health, or charger information such as actual charging current and whether or not the device is actually charging. The data was actually available, but was not officially made available by Apple.
Many apps (including my own Battery Health which was removed from the App Store by Apple a while ago) took advantage of this information. There are still several apps on the App Store that utilize it.
Unfortunately, with iOS 10 Apple has decided to completely hide this information from the end-users (even though this info has been available on iOS devices since pretty much day 1) and with iOS 10 it is no longer available to anyone.
Just an FYI.
Note: I have not tested this with iBackupBot and similar tethered solutions that require a PC/Mac.
