iPhone 13 Pro Battery improvement - iPhone 13 Pro vs 11 Pro

I know the Max model got insane battery life improvement this year but having used the 13 Pro since last few days I’m not seeing any significant improvement over my 2 years old 11 Pro.

Things that can be measured very easily such as overnight battery drain and battery drainage within a short period, I feel like they’re the same.

Not sure what’s going on here.

That’s weird because I am! Went from 11 Pro to 13 Pro and the battery life is night and day. I was charging my 11 Pro twice a day! Granted it was only on 91% and I used it all day but my 13 Pro is so much better!

I have set it up from iCloud backup. Not sure if that’s related but setting the device up as new would be super painful for me. And that won’t necessarily guarantee better battery life.

I've come from an 11pro (to a 13pro). I find the battery life to be fairly similar but the battery life on the 11 pro was always excellent for me.

Upgraded from an 11Pro to a 13Pro and I’m seeing a significant improvement. You should keep in mind that this very forum drains battery on all iPhones unless you install an ad blocker. Also, the new phone might be still downloading your backup, etc.

I've seen significant improvement as well. Yesterday I unplugged at 6:30 am and after a day of heavy browsing/email/Slack with a bit of YouTube in there I plugged it back in at 9:30 with 10% battery left, which is inline with Apple's estimates.

My 11 Pro was the best battery I have ever had on an iPhone and I'm a power user. My 12 Pro was garbage, dead or almost dead by 8pm almost every night. So far my 13 Pro has been significantly better than my 12 pro.

dont forget the 11 pro series had the best battery life, the 12 series got a battery capacity reduction
So the 13 is back up again, but again, Apple said that you get more hours compared to the last generation 12 series and not to the 11 series
So you should see some improvements to your 11 pro but not big one
Remember, you have it for few days, wait a little everything to settle down

Yeah my 13 Pro has been quite underwhelming compared to my iPhone 11 Pro. I also restored from backup whereas in the past I’ve always started fresh. I feel like it might solve things but man it’s a pain…

Looks like, as per Apple, I should expect better battery life on the 13 Pro compared to the 11 Pro.

Mostly, if not only, in video playback, thanks to the adaptive refresh rate on the 13 Pro.

Also the 12 series not only had reduced battery capacity but also lower battery quality compared to the 11 series. It's too early to tell if Apple is using the same crap batteries this year.

Coming from an iPhone 12 Pro Max, trust me...I'm very happy right now.
Nice to surf Safari, watch a few videos without my battery draining down 5-10% in 10 min. 😒

MANY 12 PM batteries were / are flawed rotten lemons

Came from an 11 Pro. Battery health was 79% until Sept 17th when I got a free battery replacement before AppleCare ended.

I'm not as amazed at the battery life on my 13 Pro as I was hoping. I was over-heating and draining like crazy until I installed "Wipr" on Saturday. Thanks MacRumors!!!

That extension solved the over-heating and crazy drain while surfing this site.


I bought my S.O. the 13 Pro Max and her battery life is unreal. Ever since going to the X after a few Plus phones, I have stayed away from the "Max" phones because I just don't want to deal with the massive phone in a pant/shirt/suit pocket.

Her phone has me second guessing my decision more than ever...
I also am gonna say I miss the curved edges of the 11 Pro. It still just feels like an extension of my hand. (I carry my phone a lot) While I love how the 13 Pro looks, it does not feel as good or secure in my hand.

I probably will stick with the 13 Pro (vs the Max) this year and see what the 14 form factor is like.

**Don't get me wrong, in all performance metrics this thing crushes the 11 Pro. Still early days with the battery. I feel like a good trip(flight) will be an accurate test for me(as opposed to sitting in my home office all day). Used to travel 200k miles a year before the pandemic. Only just started traveling again in late April and have about 60k butt-in-seat miles since then. So not as much "real-world" phone testing.**

I feel the exact same way about the form factor of the 11 Pro vs 13 Pro. I think that phone was much better and more comfortable to hold. It was a truly one-hand device! The 13 Pro feels like a brick compared to that! Especially, in a case. The battery life is good on the 13 Pro. I would say it’s somewhat better than the 11 Pro. I caught this forum issue even on the 11 Pro last week, so I installed whatever was necessary and didn’t experience that anymore.

The 11 Pro had amazing battery life. When I went to the 12 pro the battery was underwhelming. With my 13 Pro I am getting way better battery life than the 11 pro.

After typical daily usage on the 11P I’d be at 20-30% end of day, similar usage ending at 50-60% on 13P.

among all those messages that I’ve read on this forum just the people who did iCloud restore are having problems with their battery on 13 Pro. Including myself. I guess that was a bad choice but all the bank apps and etc I needed to. Should I go all the way and restart from clean and fresh iPhone?

From XS Max to 13PM, last time had XS Max i had to recharged it twice or 3 times a day, however i have now 13PM which is very impressive to me was much longer 2 half days since i charged last monday night until today 4pm wednesday, im in love with 13PM now
