among all those messages that I’ve read on this forum just the people who did iCloud restore are having problems with their battery on 13 Pro. Including myself. I guess that was a bad choice but all the bank apps and etc I needed to. Should I go all the way and restart from clean and fresh iPhone?

I did fresh install and I’ve been posting left and right about battery issues with my 13PM

Yeah my 13 Pro has been quite underwhelming compared to my iPhone 11 Pro. I also restored from backup whereas in the past I’ve always started fresh. I feel like it might solve things but man it’s a pain…

It is a pain to set everything up from scratch again. I wonder if I should take the plunge over the weekend.

Total zero first time around, no transfer. I did a reset and restore last night to try to help things, but no dice.
I guess we need to have patience enough to wait until Apple solves this somehow. I just wonder if my expectations were too high on this 13 pro? I upgraded from 11 but these number are almost equal As my 3 year old 11.

Exactly my thoughts, the camera and screen are better of course but battery life is something I was looking forward to as well.

My 13 Pro Max is getting roughly the same as my 11 Pro Max…

I guess I decided if nothing goes better im going total clear iphone this weekend. Maybe that’ll bring something as I’m deleting all my unused apps etc.

How many days ago did you first set up your iPhone 13 Pro? There’s a lot of indexing going on in the background for the first little bit. I’m now getting close to nine hours of battery life on my 13 Pro!

9 hours of screen on time?

As convenient as backups might be, I totally started this phone from scratch. So far so good, battery, performance has been great.

I also check if ANY rouge apps are running constantly in the background that may cause battery drain. (I swear, the past 4, 5 iOS updates in the last phone this problem arises)

Go to Settings >Battery > Look at the chart, especially hours when you're not using your phone..see if anything is running. Could be Mail.app, (iTunes, Dropbox..)

Now right now, I have "Find My..." app running all the time. (This connection to Air Tags I suppose) But for some reason Siri was running a few times overnight. Woke up with 3% battery drain...past few days I would wake up with 0-1%. Just have to tweak some settings with Siri.

ALSO...I always go through these videos on YouTube, nonsense you can turn off to save some battery life, improve privacy as well. Helps with all these massive major updates each Fall.

Older video, but still might be helpful

**EDIT. I SAW SIRI WAS STILL TOGGLED ON IN "BACKGROUND APP REFRESH" I TOGGLED THAT OFF. SHOULD STOP THAT RUNNING OVERNIGHT FOR NO REASON

Monday afternoon. So it's gonna be 48 hours tonight. If I get anywhere close to your number I'd be over the moon.

Thanks! I'll definitely check these out. Find My is definitely there for me because of AirTag as you said. Other than than last night Photos was there. I thought because of iCloud restore it was still uploading/updating something. Tonight I'll watch these and do what they said.

If you can, download an Mac app (for computers) called Coconut. https://www.coconut-flavour.com/coconutbattery/ Free download.

OR iMazing if you have Windows. https://imazing.com/download

Here you get get a true look of how much "health" the iPhone battery has...clearly it should read 100% right now, in some cases it may even read 101-106% in some cases.

My 12 Pro Max had a serious battery issue, feared it was from day 1 back in late Nov. 2020, I was never happy with that battery, daily drain...I honestly don't think that phone ever had 100%.

When I finally took my first reading 6, 7 weeks later, this showed 96.4% (Battery health on phone was 99% already. also had a crazy 100% drain overnight, 6 hours for no reason - I wiped the phone out and started over again) - But it was all downhill from there. *Lot of 12 users had/have this issue...some don't.

I know were talking about 11 iPhones, which had a far better larger battery compared to 12's. Doesn't mean the quality of the batteries were any better.

Toggle off iCloud backup - Photos maybe for a day or 2. See what happens and if anything improves.
All these little dinky trial and error things to get these new devices working properly, better at least.

Battery weirdness here too on my 13 Pro. Started out with an iCloud restore- draining a few percentages on overnight idle (airplane mode), battery sucked when used, and a 2-4% battery loss on every restart. I did a clean, fresh install and idle is much better (no loss on idle), but still getting the up to 4% battery loss on restarts. I have a 11 pro max that I could do 3 or 4 restarts in a row and it won't lose a percentage. This sucks.

I loose 3% on restarts too! Battery stays then quite a few time on that %. 76% -> restarted-> 73% and it took over 20 min to drop to 72%

Yup, same here. So freaking weird. I already did the online chat support (useless) and have scheduled a Genius Bar appointment in store on Friday. I'm not sure if that'll really help either, but I'll see.

Anybody else having this problem, don't bother wasting your time restoring it. There's not really a difference.

Why do people assume it’s the battery alone? Clearly, these are the system readings at play as well. I have the same thing with restarts on my 13 Pro. However, it only proves that battery % estimates are just estimates.
