I notice no difference after the update. battery was good before and still seems to be the same. Glad it fixed some of the problems some of you were having but my 4S battery has been great.:apple:

It's hard for me to explain how much so because you don't know how I use my phone but let's just say by this time in the morning it's usually down anywhere from 96 - 94%! I know it's not gotten much usage yet, but like I said, it would have already dropped six or so percent by this time every morning. I'm stoked!

I never turn wifi off (ever.)
Screen stays at 60%.
Bluetooth always off.

Anyone else already experiencing a definite improvement?

Fortunately, I do not face any battery drains whatsoever and I am using IOS 5! iPhone 4S 64GB, Model number: MD258F, Serial number starts with DN, No yellow tint in the screen but compared to iphone 4 slightly washed out colours. I feel my iphone 4S display colours are accurate!

My settings are
Brightness slightly above the default level
Email Push/Fetch disabled
Location Service OFF

Usage: 8 hours 10 mins (and still 1% left)
Standby: 1 Day 11 Hours
Calls made and received: approx 25
Maximum call duration: 1 hour 30 mins
Wifi: connected 24/7
Games: Approx 2 hours (total usage)
Music: Approx 13-15hours (total usage)
Camera: less than 2 hours video and still (total usage)
Internet browsing: using 3G - less than 6 hours
Internet browsing: using wifi 10 hours approx (total usage)
Music played using loudspeaker: less than an hour (total usage)
Siri: less than 2 hours (total usage) but always enabled (Raise to speak disabled)

+ Ive used other apps as well...

I check emails manually every once in 3 hours (not when i sleep )

BTW, I listen to music only using a bluetooth headset and not wired! I use Sony MW 600 with Denon C710 Earphones. I enable bluetooth only when required. iPhone 4S supports Bluetooth 4 which uses an ultra low power consumption technology. It does not matter if it is on or off (it will consume less than 1%!) Coz I work for a high tech company and we incorporate Bluetooth 4 on our sensor networks for an outstanding battery autonomy.

Guys,

I have all my services turned on. Location, Siri, Notifications, Wifi, Bluetooth and I got a decent 1 1/2 day battery. I usually do morning, noon, night texting, browsing (facebook) and checking mails. iPhone 4S on 5.0

I followed resetting my network settings. It helps!

your bluetooth isn't on

ok people , iphone 4s introduce on youtube review doesn't show about battery improve highlight ,at least they talk about battery iphone 4s , but they don't
so that mean same battery on iphone 4s

Backup is only supposed to happen when the phone is plugged in. I turned off my photo stream last night to see if that helps the battery a bit. Turned off "raise to speak" this morning. Currently at 90% w/ 58 min of use, 2:49 of standby.

Right after the update to 5.01 (before turning off photo stream), my battery was down to 20% after 7:36 of use & 11:20 of standby. It's not awful but not great either.

So after I turned off Photo Stream & Raise to Speak, I reached 20% after 6:20 of use & 15:09 of standby. Longer standby but less use so I think that evens itself out and that isn't much change. Those 2 things are the only settings I changed.

no party

Well, I HAD what I thought was pretty good battery like, I could get between 6-7 hours of use and about 2 days standby. That was good.

Now, I'm looking more like 5-6 hours of use and 1-1.25 days of standby.
So, SOMETHING has changed, usage patters remain very similar.

not bad for me after the update....

is this user turn off all setting and leave a phone a side to get this result
i don't think iphone 4s battery could catch up this much

I assure you sir, this is very real. Location services are on constantly as well as iCloud bookmarks and Find my iPhone. I have nothing to lie about, I just use my phone like normal.

If a user did that, there would be a note below the Usage and Standby times stating the following:

"iPhone has been plugged in since the last full charge"

That note does not appear in that screenshot.

In any case, there are many different ways to "use" an iPhone and some of those ways consume more battery than others. I think it's entirely plausible for that user to have experienced the battery life that they noted.

Thank you sir for saving me the effort of explaining that.

I've noticed a significant improvement in standby. Usage seems to drain the phone at an identical rate however. But for the most part, the update has helped indeed.

As everyone is complaining thought i would show my usage, this is off one charge no top up. Watched a few videos, read.retrieved emails, use a few apps and internet
