Try restoring the phone first and then load your back-up file. People have had better results after doing this as have I. It's a little zippier, still this iOS is obviously not meant for a 4s and they should allow people to downgrade to 6. Hopefully enough people have complained and they will open the the window to sign a previous version like 6.1.3

Past couple of days with iOS 7. I think there's something wrong with my phone.

My 4S's battery life seems pretty much unchanged running IOS7. I installed it Sunday morning using my Mac Air and iTunes (quick, no issues). Like before, I've lowered the brightness and turned off bluetooth. I've also turned off Parallax and Frequent Location. Additionally, I don't have a ton of apps, so I'm sure that helps, too.

Battery is draining slightly faster than on ios6 but i've only been running 7 for a day so time will tell.

Battery life and slow animations are 2 of my concerns and what's held me back from updating. Going to go to the Apple store to compare ios7 animations speeds to my jailbroken ios6. Will also ask a genius if they're getting reports of battery problems on the 4S.

Don;'t even bother. The stock answer is always NO. BUT, if you pegged as a potential buyer/upgrader, the answer will invariably be YES.

Battery life seems to be worse with iOS 7 (pretty much all enabled for me): about 3 hours usage and 14 hours standby.

Now I'm going to try disable automatic app update ....

I'm getting the same life as I got on iOS6, maybe even slightly better.

Settings:
Reduce Motion - On
Background App Refresh - Off
Set Time Automatically (date & time settings) - Off
Brightness - Probably at 35% or less
Notification Center - Turned off stocks, weather, etc.
Mail - Push off.

I know some people would hate to have some of this stuff off. But I would much rather squeeze as much battery life as possible out of the phone.

My 4S has had the same battery usage stats since I got it with iOS5. And FYI, I always restore, iTunes update and set up as new.

Now it seems the battery life improved so much that it's actually now better than iOS6....
Now it lasts more than 24 hours with moderate usage. My Skype is always opened as well.

Turn photo stream off.
Reduce motion on.

Turn ask to join networks off.(wifi) OR turn wifi off when away from known networks.

Turn off cellular data when using wifi.

I get close to the usage times that apple state with those features set.

I don't. At all.
I wonder what accounts for these vast differences when it comes to battery life on iOS7?

It looks like iOS7 drains the battery too quick on my 4S. Less than a half day almost without talking and I'm on 19%! I hope it will not be like this. How about you guys with 4S?

I have found battery life on an iPhone 5 to be slightly worse.

Cell/ wifi quality, type of usage, battery condition. I only use the stock mail app for icloud email. I use 3rd party for all other email account types.

Maybe that's it.

Do you use icloud docs? Contacts or calendars or safari on? If you're on wifi and that's the case, or if you have cellular on, it's more work for radio and cpu

Yes but I have minimal settings engaged and more to the point, I had them engaged on iOS6 too and experienced almost double the performance from my battery.

Battery life is fine for me. I am on Ios 7.0.2. Did a recalibrate (drain battery to 1% and then full uninterrupted charge).

Ι hear several reports that ios 7.0.2 improved battery life for iphone 4s and 4...

Is that true or just another "placebo effect" kind of thing?

I want ios 7 on my iphone 4s but I am really really concerned about battery life...

Placebo. 7.0.2 merely addressed the lock screen issue and added a Greek keyboard. My battery life remains dreadful. Having said that, lots of people say that iOS7 hasn't impacted their batteries at all so this is just my personal opinion (based on my own experience and nothing more).

4s with Ios7.0.2. Performed battery recalibration after update. Reduce motion and high contrast on.

This is my battery remaining after almost 5 hours of moderate usage (gmail app, chrome, words with friends, messages app, YouTube). Ran mostly on wifi.
