FYI Google apps are now more aggressive in sending your location info to Google. Force quit them when not using otherwise they'll drain your battery.

Also, as others said. That's not normal. Have Apple replace it if it's not some errant app. Here's mine:

Your usage time/standby time is the same. I've had this glitch since iOS 4 where the battery drains like crazy because of this. A simple restore will fix your problem

Oh.

You know, that makes a lot of sense.

Thank you.

I suggested a restore yesterday. Why haven't you done it yet?

I didn't have time.

And plus, I can delete the backup and do a fresh restore... but first I have to finish playing Spider-man, I've come too far to start over now!

I had that bug in iOS 5 or iOS 6 on a iPhone 4. It would not get fixed with a restore, not even with a DFU restore. My retailer wouldn't repair it and Apple didn't have a store near me back then. Pissed me off so much I switched to Android after that. Now i'm back in camp Apple though :)

That is what you'd expect. It will take a couple full battery drains for it to become a long lasting battery. Lests face it, the battery is brand new. Let it drain, fully charge it, then let it drain, then charge it and you should be good. Unless you got a lemon. (fat chance)

You're completely right. It's lasting longer now. (I like this guy.)

I addition to him being correct about first time battery use calibration, so is the apple product information that explains this and this to help you maintain that;

Glad you got it sorted!

It would be amazing to force everyone who bought your product to read the documentation. You wouldn't sell a lot because of it, but it would be interesting to see results.

Thanks. I'm really glad that it was just because it was brand new and you have to do a few charge cycles to get the electrons going.

This is counter to my own experience. I have found the 5S to have MUCH better battery life than my 4S. (Can't compare to 5, never had one.)

Not denying your problem, as I've read plenty of accounts of poor battery life on 5S, but counter to my own experience. So, clearly, great battery life on 5S is possible.

The type of battery used in iPhone does not need deep discharge, though, to "condition" it. However, it does take a deep discharge in order to calibrate the indication of battery life. Without some deep discharge cycles, the reported life will be inaccurate.

It was great and lasted me four days. Back then, you didn't have Push, background process, LTE or even 3G. Also, only one app at a time meant power savings.

No fancy animations that required extra clock cycles in the CPU. Things were simpler and phones lasted longer.

I must have had a defective battery then, cause mine overheated and would only last a few hours haha
