I know most only like to share what is not working, but I'm very happy with the battery life on my iPhone 6.

I keep my expectations realistic and the iPhone 6 is doing a little better than my iPhone 5. I've had the phone unplugged for about 10.5 hours so far today and used it actively for a little over 2 hours. Battery life is at 78% which meets my expectations.

Here is the screen shot of my current battery usage.

Pretty dam awesome battery life on my 6, so much better then my Galaxy S4 that even had a bigger battery then stock (I had a 2800 mAh battery in my S4 compared to 2600 mAh stock)

----------

Starting fresh is better.

So much better starting fresh

Happy as well.

Whole day at conference taking pictures, using HootSuite, tweets, emails, some calls, BT on and connected to Pebble.

Day started at 6am and ended at 6.30pm.

My first day of use the battery wasn't too hot. I restored from backup and thought that might have been a mistake. But I am MORE than pleased now. It has been 36 hours since I charged and here is what I have now:

I've been quite pleased so far. Still working on my first full drain and still have 23% to go...

Well, it is near the end of my day and I wanted to post an update to my battery life.

Battery is at 56%
About 4 hours of usage
17 hours of standby.

Continues to meet / exceed my expectations.

I wish the usage time (not standby) could go up to at least 10 hours, 6 seems average.

How did you get your location icon to look like that? Mine is always on solid..

Set up my phone as new.

Been using it for only a day as my phone is a day old or so.

Been at 100% charged since this morning at around 6.30am.

End of the day at around 10pm, i have Usage of 6 hours 42 minutes and Standby 15 hours 10 minutes.

All these with wifi, 4G, and bluetooth turned on. Also bluetooth was connected to my headset all day.

Is that reasonable?

For contacts, emails and calendar i use iCloud sync. Also syncs keychains to the phone. Photos i have them always synced to Aperture. Messages not that critical for me. I used to keep message history up until my old iPhone 3G, but i never refer back to all those messages. So i just start my messages anew. And with IOS 8 i let them expire a year later now.

I looked around on the web and found this:

The hollow location icon means an app may be intermittently using location services (such as setting a reminder if leaving a location).

The solid location icon means an app is actively using location services -- such as maps / navigation.

I do not know if this is correct, but it seems to make sense.

What is starting fresh mean actually? You don't restore your backup?

I have my photos backed up in cloud and any other documents and notes,?apps i just reinstall fresh and i set them up again , i never do a restore from a previous backup, or when I buy a new iPhone (when a new model comes out) I NEVER espcially back up from th previous older iPhone i had, it is defitnetly bound to bring glitches and battery drain etc all that sort of stuff

That's bad news. Restoring from backup is so convenient.

It doesnt always happen actually, And I also still get everything back on my phone as I had it before, it just takes a little longer, but a clean fresh OS install slate is the best

I have to admit I was pretty surprised after having it for a full day yesterday. It has been doing very well and not dying quick. I was on a call at home for almost 2 hours last night and it only went down by 3%. I was shocked.
