Absolutely rubbish on my girlfriend's 6. I'm shocked at the state of it.

My 6+ seems to be good though and I haven't calibrated it yet.

Compared to my aging 5 it's wonderful. Im at 50% after using it frequently 5 hours. Brightness is roughly 70% (I seldom adjust it.) The 5 would be dead right now.

Agreed. I get a solid 8 hours, mostly on wifi, using social media, streaming music, some you tube and the internet. My 5 was usually dead between 6 and 6 and a half hours.

heres mine boys iphone 6!

Decided not to plug my iPhone 6 in last night to see how long it would last on a 2nd day.

Here is the mid-day update.

35% battery remaining
Usage 5 hours 50 minutes
Standby 1 day 7 hours

How are people getting 8/9 hours on the 6? My 6 is dying after like 5/6 hours of usage and that's with the setting optimised for a longer battery life :(

I am not loving the battery life on the iP6. Maybe i expected too much. I wanted a phone where i did not have to charge every night, but that is exactly what the iP6 is. I have absolutely no idea how ppl are lasting more than one day, unless one of those days is mainly on standby.

With LTE, I am lucky to get much more than 5 hours. All i do is browse forums and check twitter. Nothing intensive. How in god's name did Apple estimate 10 hours with LTE on?

I also neutered my phone by turning off any "perks" (ie push, LTE, wifi, BT, background app refresh, location services, screen is down to 20-25%). Working on only 3G, only then did i get over 9 hours one time. But normally i would get 8. I get 8 with my iP4... and that's 4 years old.

Finally ran out of battery end of today. Battery lasted almost 2 full days for me.

Yup. Restored from back up. Screen about 45% with auto, wifi and bluetooth on. This was my first full drain.

.. and yeah, I spent almost an hour on Tinder. So what? :D (three matches, all hookers :()

Ha, you're not the only one. This is my 6+ after a full day of usage. I've been using Safari for just about everything now. I got rid of a lot of apps for things like forums and news/blogs. For the smaller screen sizes the apps were better but with the 6+ I like using the full sites. Probably more efficient on battery too using Safari.

Sorry to dig up a slightly dead thread (hey, it's still warm ) but to clarify, you guys with the awesome battery life are using the regular iPhone 6 or the 6 plus? I was trying them out at the apple store today, and I can't stand the size of the 6 plus...but the insane battery life that people have reported for the plus-size has always been in the back of my mind.

im in the same boat as you. I'm fully set up for great battery life, but i can't really get past 5-6 hours of use.

I'm getting 8-9 hours usage on the 6. Gets me through 1 1/2 to 2 days.

Are you closing your apps after using them? Do you find that your usage and standby times are the same? Every few charges I'll find that at least one app is getting hung up in the background and is causing the standby/usage to be the same and in those scenarios I'll only get 5-6 hours total battery life. I think it may have to do with the optimization of the apps for iOS 8 but just a thought. Try closing off all your apps when you're doing using the phone for a while.

closing apps actually wastes more power ..the apps you use frequently though out the day you need to leave open..if you constantly close all apps then your phone will lose more batter power opening and loading the app back up again as opposed to just starting where you left off..

so for those getting really bad batter, STOP CLOSING YOUR APPS!

I'm talking about a specific scenario - when usage and standby times are the same, an app is drawing excessive power continuously even when in the background. Closing the apps will stop that excessive drain and hopefully you can pinpoint the offender.

But I'm also not sure I actually agree with your base point anyways. I close my apps after every use and I just hit nearly 11 hours usage on an iPhone 6:

My wife's Verizon 6+ was at 70%+ at the end of the evening. My ATT 6+ was at 27%.

I used my phone more during the day yesterday, but it sure does seem like mine is draining the battery faster than hers.

In general with my 5 (not 5S) I would be at 10-15% by the end of a day. So far it doesn't feel like my 6+ battery life is any better than by 5 battery life. I was expecting a bit better.

Right now it's 2:40PM PDT, and I'm at 66%, and haven't used the phone too much at all. Again probably about the same as it was with the iPhone 5.

Yeah dude, the Plus battery is suppose to be SO much better then what your reporting, something is clearly wrong here

Battery life on the 4.7" 6 has been much better than I had expected. The screen below is from my use after the first full charge of the phone (my battery life was horrible out of the box because I was downloading a good 15GB of apps and music).

I should note that I'm pretty aggressive about tuning settings for maximum life: I only allow three apps to update in the background, and I'm usually on wifi. The usage below did, however include about 30 mins of GPS navigation with Apple Maps, and showing the phone off to a friend of mine while getting dinner (that's a big part of why home screen made up 20% of my use). I had 5 bars of LTE in an area where Verizon has XLTE active, so that probably helped.

I can only imagine how damn great the battery will be if I switch to the 6 Plus...

Battery Life on iPhone 6 is Great

My battery life on my 6 Plus has been amazing.

Great Battery

I'm getting very good battery life on my 6. i got 7 hour usage and 45 hours standby while on LTE this weekend. It was light usage but still it was way more battery life than I needed. I don't think the plus would get me any meaningful battery life since I think my 6 will almost always last me 24 hours.

Honestly, I think it's pretty good. I had to go to a children's birthday party, very boring and, today. I got there with my phone at full charge. I used heavily while I was there on LTE mainly Safari, the app store, and RSS newsfeeds. I then use my phone a decent amount the rest of the day and here was my battery life.

Not bad at all, not amazing, but my iPhone 4s would've died long ago.

17 hours? How in the world are you getting that much battery life? Most I've gotten on my plus is 12-13.

I guess it really depends on what you do. I can get around 17 hours too but that's about 4-5 hours of listening music. So if I wasn't listening to music, maybe around 11-13 hours of usage on average.

Playing games will definitely drain the battery down.

On my second screenshot, this is pretty obvious from by listening to music. But still great battery life.
