It would be an interesting study.
Well and what defines a “good” or “bad” idea?? What might be a genius and highly effective idea for me might be a terrible idea to you.

It comes down to you can’t please everyone, as a manufacturer you do test groups for new ideas, and do your best and some people will love it, others won’t.

If there was a toggle, all they would need to do it replace the battery icon with the %. All there have to do is show the percentage instead of the battery logo... Easy.
You mean... Ugly.

You better get used to checking your battery percentage less often.

Thanks for the comments. Many don't even even know that the % option ever existed. It's set to OFF by default on any iphone. To Turn it ON, you'd go- to settings, then battery, then "show battery percentage" then at the top right you'd see the percentage. That's how it's been for a long time. THis option worked for the iphone 6,7,8, etc, but with the X option is just gone...

Again, many don't even know there's a toggle to turn this feature on. Anytime I get someone's iphone that I know, they don't have it on, and I do it for them, and they always think it's cool and like the extra info. Again, power users like this moreso than not...

Also, 11 people sending feedback is better than 1. All it takes is a few to make a point, but 1 person only doesn't do much. The option was there for 5 years if you wanted to enable it, not it's gone if you upgraded to an X, etc.

Totally agree. Just sent my feedback. I always turn it on and find it odd that they took this option away.

I don't get why people are against this. It has always been an option so it doesn't need to impact others. And even if you don't turn it on, why wouldn't you support others who do use it? The time it takes to reply in this thread against this is the same amount of time it would have taken to send feedback to Apple.

So please, reconsider and send feedback to Apple. It'll only take 1 minute.

I'll even help out... Just copy and paste!

To the iPhone team,
I'd be great if you could add back in the option to turn on battery percentage for the home screen on X and XS series phones.
Thanks for your time and have a nice day.

Do you want to bet on that? :)

I did this before on past items and had maybe 10 people ask and they did it. It was small things, but if apple see's a handful of people asking and they think it's a good idea or didn't think of it, they WILL do it. THis is the only reason I'm asking. Sometimes it only takes a few people, and hopefully more will see this.

You are living in a high state of naivety. You may KNOW of 10 people that asked. But, you do not know if maybe thousand or even millions other asked.

And, it would be very rare that the voice of 10 customers is gonna change ANYTHING at a big company like Apple.

As to the percent thing - I also find it very annoying. Then again, it has been coming without it as standard for years.

Same. So long Im not going camping for days, this is no longer an issue. In fact, Id rather have Apple remove the batteryindicator all together and replace IT with something useful
Yeah, it's not like it's useful to know how much battery is left for a device that runs on it.

Well I have about 50% left when I go to bed on days when I put my phone through hell, so as long as I charge at night, I never really look at the indicator

not enough space cause of the notch.
There is enough space. When my X was jailbroken I did this.

I've never turned on battery percentage on my phones. It's not especially accurate and the icon is good enough. Put it on charge whenever convenient and/or overnight and enjoy all the extra time you'll have not checking those numbers.

Just found out about this, was about to upgrade my 7 to an XS, this would drive me insane. Who do we contact at Apple?

I thought I would miss the battery percentage display when upgrading to the XR from an iPhone 6... but since the XR battery lasts so long, I really have no need to check on the battery anymore before I charge it at night!

I miss the battery percentage from my 8 Plus....
There is enough space to display the numbers. Or give the option to display the battery icon or battery percentage in numbers.
