Maybe they’re trying to change the dialog so people stop freaking out over battery percentage. Or they just prefer the look of the battery indicator without a percentage.

TBH this seems like lazy engineering at first thought, but then you realize Apple could've done more if they wanted to.

I think this is an early nod to get people to forget about the "perception" that iPhone battery life is not that great.

I’m not gonna lie, I miss it too, lol.

With the insane battery life on my XR it really is not an issue anymore.

I miss the headphone connection/battery indicator, though. That was very useful. More than once I went around blasting my embarrassing music at work thinking they were connected when they were not.

I've had multiple iphones and the first thing I do, and my friends do is enable battery percentage on all our friends phones and they love it! I follow this religiously and so do a bunch of people I know. NOW, you can't see it on the XS unless you swipe down from the top of the screen. I'm going this 50 times a day. What can't you just have a toggle so the battery icon at the top right turns into a %?? There is room. Just replace battery icon with percent, and add a toggle in battery settings. That toggle is gone now. It's TOO HARD.

I called apple and they said if more people send feedback they will add a toggle so it will show percent at top right. Hope you guys can help and that you agree??

Ok, I fill it out if you guarantee me no more threads about battery level dropped 3%, what’s wrong with my phone.

You really check 50 times a day? That’s like every 15 minutes. I used to obsess about it too. Though not quite that bad.

Ever since I have to pull down to check, I stopped doing it little by little. Turns out phone lasts pretty much all day, just like before. Putting it behind pull down helped me get over my constant checking.

To me, the icon shows the battery level at a glance. It's pretty obvious to me if the battery is at 1/4 (25%) 1/2 (50%) etc....
I suppose it could be argued Apple should add it as an accessibility feature for those with poor spacial awareness?

If I need to know exactly, I swipe down or look at the battery widget. More often, I look at the battery widget just to see if my BeatsX headphones are charged, rather than the iPhone battery.

This exactly. I don’t need to know the battery level exactly but if I really do, I just go to the widget. Mine is at 84 right now. I would have guessed a little above 80.

Such a non issue. Yawn.

That's pretty rude, obviously lots of people find it to be an issue or the subject wouldn't come up, you know, all over the place. Maybe you are new to the intermet and that's fine, but try to realise that it's not all about you, other people might have different opinions.

I agree with him. It's not an issue & a great decision by Apple. Everyone else should adapt & get over it.

It doesn't matter if you agree with him or not, the fact is that many are annoyed by this so it definitely is an issue.

But as I said, Apple made the right decision so you will have to get used to it. It would look stupid to cram a small area on the display with a statistic that's just a swipe away.

I also don't know why, but i miss the % like crazy. And when i swipe down on my XS Max to see the percentage, my fat thumb is in the way. smh

I like seeing the percentage as well, probably a habit learned from my 6S range anxiety days. I concede it’s not as big of a deal with today’s phones for my uses, but seems easy enough to implement the option anyway. I have a much bigger problem with the XS not showing Maps in portrait orientation when I have the phone upside down and charging in the center console of a car. I’ll provide Apple feedback for both.

I don't get why they don't just use the same battery indicator on the apple watch (circle with % inside). They could size it to easily fit in that spot and you get both all in one shot.

It's a stat showing the estimated battery level. Therefore it's a stat.

What difference does the name you're calling it?

I'm calling it Bob.

It's a Bob that's a swipe away, but it didn't use to be like that. And it was a very useful Bob.

Doesn't change the facts...

It's a non issue. I'm 70 years old and have been using the Internet for a great many years. It's a non issue. And you're right, it has nothing to do with me. It's just a non issue.

It's a different phone & display so it has to be like that. Things never stay the same (thankfully) so people have to adapt to change.
