I've got an iPhone 6 (purchased in September 2014) and it is needing a new battery. Basically I have to keep it plugged in, games and browsing will drain my battery to almost nil inside of an hour. I just talked with Apple and they confirmed I needed a new battery by doing a diagnostic over the web. Now they want to charge $35, $29 for the battery, $7 for shipping. I have to do mail-in because I do not live near an Apple Store.
Now my question is..... has anyone gotten their battery replaced by Apple, what kind of success rate? Did it improve battery life and performance? I've read horror stories about Apple trying to make up reasons to charge the user more for other things that they find are "wrong" but really aren't. I don't want to have to go through the hassle. Saw another thread where someone got a battery replacement from Apple and it ended up failing him a few months later. Don't want to go through that hassle either. Also is it worth to fix the battery even if I plan to purchase a 8+ or X in the near future?
