Nahhh.

A lame excuse by Apple.

Apple just want to see first the other smart watch design and functionality before they release their own version of smart watch.

Right now, i bet they are modifying their iWatch because they saw some similarities that is the same as their iWatch.

They need to release an Article like this to cover up the changes.

I somewhat agree. Maybe you and I aren't thinking outside the box, but I believe such a small device is very limiting interms of software and usefulness. It's very likely that Samscum and/or other smart watch manufacturers have already replicated the iWatch's functionality. The only differance is that Apple's will be more stylish and have better battery life.

Anyone wearing an old school watch is a nerd, just a different kind of nerd.

This is just blatantly false. Many Search and Rescue, Military personnel and outdoor enthusiasts wear and rely on watches all the time.

I'm still not convinced they'll call it the iWatch. They didn't call it iRadio as many expected but iTunes Radio. I think it will be part of a range of new wearable devices under the iPod brand. So it may be the iPod Watch.

Nobody wears their watches to bed, so why not just include wireless charging?

Anyway, I have a feeling this product will the 'iPod killer'. The Shuffle, Nano, and to a lesser extent the Touch are used primarily by people that are into exercise. If the iWatch contains a pedometer, heart rate monitor, and a Music App, than we can say goodbye to half the iPod range.

I'm still not sure how much appeal this product will have outside of fitness junkies, but I'll refrain myself from being skeptical until I know what other features it has.

I don't want to plug my headphones into my watch while I'm jogging.

That sounds weird.

I haven't really been convinced my wearable tech yet (then again, I questioned the iPad upon reveal, though I now would hate to live without it). It seems to me Apple is late to the game.

I think (just my opinion) that Apple has made a mistake by shifting development from the iTV to the iWatch. Anyone else think so too?

I wrote an article this week about the popularity of smartwatches at CES. I also shed a little light on Apple's iWatch plans (or as much as is safe to):

Imagine a beautifully designed watch, featuring seamless strap and screen integration, and then add a layer of digital personality to match your mood, your clothes or your interests

No. A TV would never work. People don't want to spend 3-5k on a medium sized TV. Nor upgrade their TV every 2-3 years.

I have used the pebble for quite some time now and can confidently say that smart-watches (at least good ones) can be very useful. I already really miss it when I forget to put it on in the morning.
If Apple can make one better then pebble, and costing <300 euro, I'm sure it'll be a great success.

I've ordered the Pebble Steel a couple of days ago, so Apple can take it's time for all I care.
