Battery life has always between Weakness of phones, it's my second largest complaint. I will say that my 6 is the best of all the iPhones I've used, even with android I always have to change out the battery.

The bottom line - if you're actively using your phone all day long, you won't get a full day use. If you use it off and on all day (or in my case text off and on while at work), it will generally last until I go to bed.

The people getting amazing battery life aren't on the phone all day, the people (generally) getting bad battery life are actively using the phone.

Thank You! I can finally rest assured that my battery is fine!:D:apple::rolleyes:;):D:D

well sure there 24 hours in a day if you stuck on the phone all day no phone in the world has 24 hours of usage, BUT i think 9 hours of usage a day are more than enough for a normal lifestyle

you sleep for 8 so that only leafs 16 awake hours so 9 hours of usage in 16 hours of a day is usuing the phone 56% of the time you are awake

Yes...that seems right....my 6 Plus gets about 9-10 hours with medium to heavy usage so yeah!:apple::rolleyes::D

I have never had more than 8 hours of usage. But after the upgrade to 8.1 my usage was way too high, I realised something is wrong or running at the background. After a hard reset (power + home button) it's seems be back to its normal level. Maybe trying to hard reset it may fix the problem.

6 or 6 plus?

6 or 6 plus?

Mine is 6. But any devices I guess, the first thing to do is reset it if you feel the battery is draining or used more than normal. I first noticed it was quite warm than normal and found the usage level was way too high (probably background activity) after the hard reset it's normal again. Have you try hard resetting it yet?

oh I am not having issues I am just impressed with your 14 hours of usage

I have not let my phone run down to 0% on 8.1 but I got 7 hours and still had 40% thats was very impressive for me considering I normally get 8-9 hours total

This is what I get from my iPhone 6 on average.. Not really happy to be honest! While on cellular it seems like it drops instantly, can't explain why.. Also something that I noticed is that from 30%-0% it drops much slower than from let's say 90%-60%.. Why does texting(normal SMS, not iMessage) drop 1% of my battery every other text or so? Doesn't seem like a particularly battery intensive task.. Also, brightness is set to auto, usually fluctuates between 0% and 40%..

well SMS uses the carrier signal not wifi so if you have 2 dots all day texting can use a lot of battery

I think if you are getting 8-9 hours still 40% of usage is very impressive. Normally I getting the same or little less than 8 hours of usage on normal use, ~30mins or less on games, Facebook, mail and web browsing mainly on standby and wifi connected. The 14h screen shot wasn't normal and I don't think anyone will get that sort of usage level on a single charge. 6-8 hours is perfectly normal I guess. It's all really depends on how you're using the phone weather it's heavy usage or light use.

Hi All. I've been able to get my iPhone 6 work pretty well in terms of battery drain. The key for me was disabling refreshing some apps in the background (i.e. I was getting 4% per day from YouTube, now hardly anything) and location services for Facebook (I use it a lot, but hardly ever need location services, so I've decided to turn it off - battery usage dropped from ~15% to 4-5% per day). I'm on iOS 8.1.

If I continue to get such results (10+ hours of usage over 1.5 days), I'll be pleased.

ohh I see I thought that 14 hour screen shot was what you got after you did the hard reset

I went from an iPhone 4S to a 6 Plus.. it was the biggest upgrade for me in every single way. I could barely get 4 hours of usage on my 4S running iOS 7.
I love this phone.

6 Plus, getting pretty cool results. I'll post again at 1%. Left it for like seven hours overnight, went down 1% so impressed with the standby times.

I wonder, is it normal for the home and lock screen to be that high?

Update: Not too shabby at all. Still a little concerned about the home and lock screen usage being so high, but can't complain given how long it still lasted. And I'm not necessarily using any "battery saving" methods either.

So glad I returned the 6 for the 6 Plus. Battery life much improved. I was at an event for 9+ hours of 60fps video, surfing the net, Facebook, messaging, misc and was at 47%? at the end of it.

I did the opposite and went from a 6 to a 6 plus and am back again with an iPhone 6. First world problems, I know. The plus had incredible iPad level battery life but in the end it was way more than I needed.

What made me return the plus was pocketability. I couldn't sit with it easily in movie theatres, had to always take it out when sitting in restaurants, and it wouldn't fit on my car dash. It wouldn't even fit in a car cup holder.

Funny enough I was one handing it pretty well with reachability but I'm just not willing to change all my pants and car routine for it.

Amazing amazing phone though! In the end the iPhone 6 lasts me through the day and has no issues in my pockets or car so it's the one I'll stick with for now.

Wow your battery on that 6 plus is spectacular! A high home screen just means you're probably getting a barrage of notifications throughout the day that constantly wake up your phone. Hence lock/home screen usage to display those notifications.

Anyone seeing decreased battery life after updating to 8.1 ?

Seems nearly identical in battery life compared to iOS 8.0 for me. Maybe slightly better than 8.0.2 due to the fix for no more backboard crashes in diagnostic logs.

This is a screenshot of my 2nd iPhone 6 on 8.1. Compare it to my 1st iPhone 6 running 8.0 on first page of this thread and battery life is almost perfectly consistent between two different iPhones. So first phone wasn't a fluke in terms of battery life.

My battery life has been better since iOS 8.1. Averaging about 10% an hour until it get lower or if a lot of stand by time ImageUploadedByTapatalk1414177664.839519.jpg

Only other thing I did was turn Siri off as i think she sucks. If your still struggling with bad battery life give it a shot. Can't hurt...Google is much better

Yeah...here's my usage. What do you guys think for this 6 Plus? I played some heavy games and only plugged it in for like 5 minutes on a computer.

This is purely anecdotal as there's no way to prove this... but today I was getting like cway77 above which was about 10% an hour battery life. I then spent half an hour in a Costco eating and shopping. The concrete walls there are notorious for terrible for cell reception.

I noticed I had no signal at all at the back of the store. I didn't use my iPhone at all and by the time I left the store by battery had drained 4%. So a low signal really kills the battery even when doing nothing.
