Is there any way to listen to Radio 5 Live *Live* on the iPhone?

The BBC Streams website isn't live and has a 15 second delay on anything you listen to on there, or through FFStream.

I have the ooTunes app. There are hundreds of radio stations on it. I don't know if there is a delay though.

An app called Fstream is available and really simple.

once installed just put in for radio 5 http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/r5l.asx
for radio 1 it's http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/r1.asx
radio 2 http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/r2.asx

etc etc

hope this helps:D

then No there isnt an FM or AM transmitter in the iPhone so the only way to get radio is through the internet.

Hello folks - it's been a while.

FStream does indeed work - I think it was actually the first solution to this problem back in July 2008.

However, it is slightly complicated, in that you need to know the URLs of the BBC Radio streams (as reproduced above).

I think that now, the 'Tunin.FM iCar Radio' is the best solution, with a one-off cost of £2.39 from the App Store. There is also a lite version which is free.

Here, the BBC Radio stations are clearly listed, and easy to find/save as favourites.
It also offers a choice of hi/lo bit-rates. The lo bit-rate is often a good idea if you are travelling/walking/cycling/jogging etc., as it is more likely to remain connected to the stream throughout.

Good luck! High time the BBC brought out a proper iPlayer iPhone/iPad app which featured live and on-demand 3G streaming, as well as a downloading functionality for radio and TV programmes.

By the way, you can also watch most of the Freeview (inc BBC) TV channels live from your Safari iPhone web browser, via www.tvcatchup.com

Happy streaming!
