I had a Droid Incredible and hated the UI lag and general sluggishness. The biggest reason I decided to upgrade was the dual core processor.

I have multiple upgrades available. Mind as well sell my iPhone 4, make some money on the side when I upgrade to the iPhone 4S

I wish there were multiple options available.

#1 is Siri, no doubt that is the future of mobile phones and what geek could resist being the first to try it.

#2 is the processor and camera. Good spec bump! (Camera upgrade is SIGNIFICANT and missing from this poll!)

#3 is the CDMA/GSM in one. As a Verizon user who plans to travel overseas for several months next year, that is a must have feature to have! This is also missing as an option on this poll, and could be important for frequent travelers.

#4 Yeah, I got the money. Bought the 4S full price and its not a big deal. :)

My main reason for upgrading wasn't listed.....64 GB of storage so I could put EVERYTHING on my iPhone and not have to constantly monitor if I am running over.....

A&D. Although they're kinda mutually inclusive...Phone was on its last legs so I needed a better processor

Your missing a poll question,

* upgrading from a 3GS contract end!

Not because its falling to bits, because it isn't, its actually fine, I'm just coming to contract end, so getting the latest iPhone possible :)

Because my last 3G, 3GS, and 4 were all black and I wanted white. Plus seeing how Apple has chosen to put the white model at the forefront of all their marketing material made me want it even more.

I know it's irrational, but I just couldn't live with the fact that there was a better version of my beloved phone out there for the taking. :p

I've also been wanting a white iPhone ever since the white 4 was released.

Hey, you're not alone. I had planned on holding out for the next generation as I wasn't eligible for an upgrade from my 4 but after playing with my wife's new 4S, got a bad case of gadget envy so picked one up for myself. And as I paid full price , I now have a fully unlocked model that should fetch a nice sum when the time comes to sell it and I will have the option for a subsidized upgrade next time.

None of the options listed above.

Seriously the main reason I upgraded is
1. I need to reset my upgrade cycle. I have been eligible to upgrade since June 2011. So each day that passes (and I don't have any intention of leaving ATT). But each day that passes and I haven't used my upgrade, ATT is making even more money off of me by me not excising my upgrade (thus ATT's subsidy).

That's the real reason I upgrade. Plus iPhone has best resell value. That's the reason I got the new 4S even though I really don't need it.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

Because my iPhone 4 is now out of warranty and I hate carrying around an expensive device without a warranty. Also, because I was eligible for a full upgrade. Lastly, I wanted to move up to a 32gb model since I was running out of space on my iPhone 4.

Other than that, the camera was a huge consideration, since I no longer take my point-and-shoot with me anywhere.

Siri and the speed bump are just nice bonuses.

My 3GS's storage was too small (I had 15.5 of 16gigs filled), My two year contract was up on AT&T and AT&T's prices were tearing me a new one. I switched to the 4S on Sprint and now I'm happy. :)
