while these are really horrible looking, they don't really affect me at all since I don't see myself ever buying corded headphones again... So have at it Apple!

Now here's innovation Apple style. Truly Timmy's Apple at its finest. Who needs up to date macs, folding tablets, and swappable SSD when you can put beads on headphones.

A true technological wonder. Timmy should be so proud. I bet Samsung execs are cowering in a meeting room somewhere right now trying to figure out how much this will damage them.

Apple's management team needs big bonuses for this.

I love how everyone is bashing the design when these clearly aren't targeted to most people posting on this forum. I guess if it doesn't fit your style then they must be the worst product ever created by Apple.

I love my beatsX the way they are thank you. One of the reasons I do is because they are simplistic, and cheap. Now they add beads and double the price? This so called fashion is just poison.

I really wish they didn't buy Beats. If they wanted a head start on a streaming service, Nokia's MixRadio was the perfect and cheaper option they should have went with. The service was being shopped around too at the time of Beats' acquisition but I guess its popularity and celebrity endorsements convinced Hollywood fangirl Tim Cook that it's more valuable than it really is. It's not like Apple didn't have the know-how in audio equipment (iPod, iPod + Hi-Fi, iTunes).

Never heard of the brand, and I consider myself a fashionista. Which means this collab isn't very good.

Also they look like those beaded necklaces that 1st graders make in art class. Yuck.

Lol, well “ooh lah lah”; if the self-proclaimed fashionista from MR (VERY stylish glasses, btw! /s) isn’t aware of Japanese fashion houses, I suppose that definitively proves that “this collab isn’t very good”.

Get over yourself.

Btw, looks like they made some pretty trick looking sneaks in a collab w/ Nike... you might want to head over to those forums & scold those people as well, and parade your “expertise” around a bit more, oh mister fashion guru.

Edit:
You’ll have to pardon me if I don’t take my fashion advice from a late middle aged white guy from Russia, who inexplicably uses for his online handle Snoop Dogg’s legal name. It kinda calls your authenticity & overall sense of being “in tune with the times” into question.

If you haven’t heard of Sacai, then you cannot call yourself a fashionista. They have had several seasons of collaborations with Nike. Oh, and who calls themselves a fashionista?

I love everything about this. Love that they chose Syd for the promo shot. Love that they collaborated with sacai and Chitose Abe—one of the coolest brands and designers in the world. I also love my BeatsX. If I didn’t already own a pair, I’d buy these.

Also love all of these reviews from the ever-fashionable tech-set.

I’m out of the loop. Has Apple done anything to improve the sub par sound hardware standards of the Beat brand? Or are they still selling $80 headphones for $299?

I think these look really cool, and featuring Syd from The Internet is smart -- I think those listeners overlap with their target demographic for this, which is probably early 20-somethings who care about fashion. Honestly I'd consider buying these if I had money to burn, but alas I'm a poor graduate student.

Well it takes all sorts. Fair enough if anyone likes them.

Maybe if these are successful we'll end up with Beer-flavoured Bearded Beaded Beats with Beef, Beans and Bendy Bezels.

Is that suppose to be Beats or Beads?

Immediately, the David Bowie song popped into my head, "Fah, Fah, Fah, Fah, Fashion. Turn to the left. Fashion. Turn to the right. Fashion."

You went in! I cackled pretty hard on this one.

Beats cost $14 to manufacture.
I wasn’t really speaking to manufacturing overhead, rather a stack up against other brand names and their quality-to-price ratio, but I guess I’ll take that as a “yes they’re still junk“
