Mine get delivered today. Look forward to seeing how well they fit and replacing my gen 2 AirPods. The mics are gradually decreasing in quality. I’m not getting seamless switching between my 2018 iPad Pro and iPhone 12 pro max anyway so these will be getting primary use with the iPhone at work so we’ll see.

“Spatial audio” by way of the head tracking features you mean..they do offer Dolby atmos spatial audio..just not the head tracking..but I don’t think these headphones were designed to do all that anyway?
That's one of the things that is stopping me from getting these. Head Tracking Spatial Audio for Apple Music comes out in the Fall (in addition to the videos it's already out for), and only AirPods Pro and AirPods Max will be able to utilize this.

I already have the AirPods Pro so in that scenario I will be reaching for my AirPods Pro every time [over the Beats Studio Buds] when it comes to it. Once you experience Head Tracking SA you won't want to go back lol. It really messes with your mind in a cool way.

Received mine this morning and have been using them to listen to music for the last hour or so. Very happy with the fit. The APP did not fit my ears well and would fall out. So far these beats buds have stayed in my ear really well. The next test will be mowing the lawn and riding my peloton this afternoon. If they can pass that test without falling out I will be a happy camper. Sound great so far also.

So you trade wireless charging and an H1 for noise cancellation? Hmm... At that point, do they kinda compete more with the Pro's instead of the standard model?
I don't really think you are trading anything.

As in most reviews on the buds, they've all pretty much said these seem more like an appeal to the Android market over any Air pods replacement.

To me it does seem like a hand towards Android users who will find a pair of wireless beats with easier syncing. But... if you want ALL the cool stuff one might to be in the Apple ecosystem getting that wireless charging, H1 chip. It just seems like a product Apple is making to maintain Beats presence outside of the Apple walled garden.

That is fine, I personally have never had them fall out. I tend to take them out, put them in a lot, also I will use them will all of the Apple devices....phone, pad, 2 laptops

Have always used AirPods and AirPods Pro so keen to see how these sound and connect.

My AirPods Pro would not stay connected to my iPhone overnight and apple just replaced both because of rattle and ANC issues. Automatic switching between devices is also definitely not seamless so not having the H1 chip is really not a big deal.

Ah, okay. I haven't read any reviews on them, not even the ones here. Unless they came with some really significant features, I'm kinda done buying anything for my ears for a while. I just bought the Studio 3's a few months ago, and they really rock, so...

But it's nice that Apple now has a brand to pander to the other side of the tracks, so to speak... Yeah, it's not a slam on Android, it slams itself pretty well without my help, but having a well designed and executed ear bud from 'Apple' is a great idea. TBH, I had thought of buying one model of the Android market ear buds a couple of years ago.

As far as interchangeability, aside from some whiz bang features, just about any ear bud would/should work with any device.

I think they are a little weaker in the 'sweat proof' direction, but those numbers can be really deceiving. I'm sure someone will know...

Oh, I'm educated...

IPX4 means there is no 'particle protection', and 4 means 'Splashing of water'

Water splashing against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effect, utilizing either:
a) an oscillating fixture, or b) A spray nozzle with no shield. Test a) is conducted for 10 minutes. b) is conducted (without shield) for 5 minutes minimum.

I thought the PowerBeats Pro came out with a higher rating initially. Odd. It has the same rating currently. I wouldn't exactly call them 'sweat-proof'.

I guess you could say they were a replacement, although it's a different form factor. *shrug*

Let me know how these are! If I didn't already have APP, I would totally go for these.

If it had Spatial Audio support, lightnight cable support (not too importnot), and H1/W1 chip for see less integration then I’d have pre-ordered these. Now looking at alternatives since the AirPod Pro’s v2 is a way off still. I don’t expect H1 chip in competitions products.

Yeah, it's like the PowerBeats Pro issue all over again. They are expensive, they work generally well, and Apple already had wireless charging for quite some time, and they birth those without wireless charging, and called them 'Pro'. Yeah, no. Not when the lowly AirPods are sporting wireless charging. People expect more from 'pro level' goodies now. We're spoiled...

Wireless charging should be the bottom requirement for a 'Pro' suffix, or it's just not...
They’re called Beats Studio … no ‘pro’ in the name. The lowly AirPods where sporting wireless charging to the tune of a more expensive secondary case or until gen v2‘s launched with it.

I’m enjoying mine since they arrived this morning. UPS actually came early, which they never do on Fridays for me.

I paired them with my iPad Pro. Unlike AirPods Pro, they stay in my ears and haven’t caused any noticeable discomfort (yet). The ANC seems solid, Transparency mild compared to APP. There is a huge difference in sound quality and bass response with ANC/Transparency on and all off. I would say ANC sounds the best, with Transparency almost the same, if not identical. I do not like the sound profile at all with them both off. These seem like well balanced buds, with a tad punch to the bass. As will all buds, some tracks perform better. The mics have worked well for Zoom and Slack calls. Sticking with the medium tips today, but I do think they’ll sound even better with the Large size due to a tighter seal. But the Mediums are mighty comfortable for me so far.

AirPods (gen 2) are still my go to at home, due to iCloud syncing (I swap between my work MBA, personal iPad Pro and AppleTV throughout the day) and their near perfect comfort. These will be for when I leave the house, or want to listen to music in peace. If only they supported iCloud syncing! I’d love to use them all day. Hopefully APP 2 will have a similar style, if not at the very least, similar comfort for me.

For reference... I have tried AirPods Pro 3 times with countless third-party ear tips. AirPods Max were awesome but I didn’t find them comfortable due to ear irritation and headaches. (I’d love a lighter version.) Beats Solo Pro and Studio 3 were all too tight and never loosened up. I have a set of Powerbeats 4 for walks. Not my favorite for around the house, but good for on the go.

What are you talking about... I was talking about the PowerBeats Pro ear buds. They shipped after the wireless charging AirPods (version 2?) came out. People were generally not quite happy with the lack of wireless charging in that case.

I just found the one thing about these that I don't like - the USB-C charging. I don't own a single USB-C charging plug so I'm going to have to buy one just to charge these earbuds.
