Waiting to see a few reviews of how they compare to my Power Beats Pro sound and fit wise….as I find the case the power beats come with slightly on the large size and the ear hooks don’t like masks being put on and taken off, they do seem to get a bit tangled at times.
I prefer these over my Powerbeats 4/Pro. I never needed the ear hook, these fit better, sound better and are more comfortable IMO. Only thing missing is the benefits of the H1, mainly iCloud syncing.

By the time a certain port is standardized, a new generations comes with significant technological advances. The industry is moving to USB Type-C and is a matter of time before everyone transition. Im in my 30th and I have already lived the transition from disquettes to CDs and from CDs to DVD/BlueRay, and from DVD/BlueRay to flash storage, and from flash storge to cloud storage. It is the same for ports. In the next 10 years we will abandon USB Type C for something faster and better. Im all in for standardization but it should be made in a proper way in order to not hurt innovation.

10 years? It seems like 10-months...

Like what would be 'better' than 'USB-C'? It doesn't have a right side up side, so that makes it rather idiot proof (until they make a new idiot that is (I hear it takes a minimum of nine months)).

I remember the EU was all about 'standardization', on power supplies, batteries, chargers, connections. Apple supposedly got spanked for Lightning, so now we have *another* connector, was all I was getting at.

If I was the EU, I'd have decreed that the Apple Lightning port was a standard, and force Apple to keep it, AND share it. *shrug*

Pretty much anything that drapes down the face. Helmet straps don't play well either. Some glasses, and goggles have a hate/hate relationship with them too.

BUT! I rather like the ear loops, as I keep having the AirPods get brushed out of my ears often when I wipe my face with a towel. I mean, they work, but there are some issues occasionally.

I'd like to know if these use the same material for the earbuds as the AirPods Pro that were giving a lot of people bad allergic reactions.

Is this the consensus? That these sound as good if not better than the PowerBeats Pro? For sound quality my rankings are:

PowerBeats Pro
….

AirpodsPro

….

Beats Flex

Weird, I'm allergic to so much, and yet the AirPods Pro seem to be only allergic to gravity. People are allergic to them?

(PSST: Don't tell my body. It might not go well)

Allergic you say? Weird...

Don’t get me wrong I think the loops are a selling point for me regarding the power beats pro….the just feel that much more secure. But it’s just when wearing a mask of as someone else mentioned sunglasses 🕶.

Ive seen a few vid of the buds and it mentioned they are very secure….but I’m a bit skeptical when in comes to that sort of design.

Totally get it. I love the AirPods, but after losing one on a bike ride, I was shocked with how quickly something that fit perfectly was sent spinning to the ground. I was also shocked with how quickly I was able to find it with the 'Find My' app.

Yeah, some 'hate' loops on ear buds, but you have to realize that there are different 'types' for different purposes and activities. Like I use my AirPods often at my desk while on the iPhone. It's just easier, but doing active activities with them, and the 'stem', means that they can be sent flying by any number of actions, and sometimes they give a warning, and other times, they just go flying... Some may say it's decadent to have so many different types of ear buds, but they answer different needs. I like the loops. Especially when on my trainer. I shake my head, and don't have to go looking for the little rascals...

I'm one of those people allergic to the AirPods Pros. My ears act like I have an ear infections after I use them - the ear canal, the skin starts peeling, and I get drainage and blockage anytime I wear them (the longer I wear them the worse the symptoms).

I bought a pair of the Beats Studio Buds on Friday and have been wearing them about 1/2 hour a day so far (trying to ease into them in case I get symptoms). So far no issues. I wish these had more of the features of the AirPods Pros, but they are a good alternative since I just can't use the APP anymore.

I received my Beats Studio Buds on Friday 6/28. I immediately noticed an issue. When ANC was enabled (either noise cancelling or transparency) I got a loud "whooshing noise" in the left bud. The right bud was fine. Turning ANC off let's me use the buds just fine. I did a bunch of troubleshooting including un-pairing and re-pairing and using the buds with different devices. I contacted Apple and they're making me bring the buds into a store for assessment/replacement. A few other things I noticed:

1) The case does not seem to have the same level of finish I would expect from an Apple product. There is an odd gap when the case is closed and the lid is not flush with the case. Seems like manufacturing tolerances are not the same standard as other Apple products.
2) In-ear fit is very good. I also own PowerBeats Pro and the buds stayed in my ear during a run as well as the PowerBeats.

I'm bummed by the ANC issue, I hope I just got a lemon and can get them replaced.

Took these with me on my morning exercise walk and as with pretty much all earbuds, the right one is a little loose and needs to be pushed back in quite frequently (I have an oddly shaped right ear canal, I think). I'll try the bigger ear gel on it to see if it makes a difference. Sound was very nice, though.

I don't mind the matte finish and sort of like it.

I did notice the gap, I was wondering if it was on purpose to help opening them.

They've come a long way from the 3.5m jack headphone design i still have today. I'm just worried how much dust will collect on this thing..

Anyone having issues putting Apple Care on them? The Worst Try couldn't get it, and I just tried, and no dice either. Says invalid serial number.

Weird, outage, or known issue?

EDIT: And they fit really surprisingly well. They aren't falling out all the time. Nice job, Beats/Apple.

Swapped out the medium tip for the large tip in my right ear to try to correct for the fact that ear canal is shaped differently than my left one and the right buds got too loose too quick when walking with it. Seems to have done the trick.

Can people get Apple Care? Hmm...

Update - while it may seem weird to be using ear buds each with its own differently sized gel, it's worked for me. The right tip stays in with more grip than it did before and I maybe adjust it 5 times in an hour walk versus about 50 times. :p

We are, actually, all rather asymmetrical. Some people are really asymmetrical. I remember running into someone at a seminar who was talking about a shoe store that sold shoes 'each', rather than by the pair. Their one foot was nearly two sizes larger than the other. They hated buying two pairs of whatever shoe they liked to have two that actually fit. And there is also a store, kinda like ebay, that sells the mismatched shoes of people like her. What a great idea!

It makes us unique.

My problem is usually the 'in-ear' buds don't stay in at all, but these things really work very well. I'm happy, and surprised. Small wonders. Kudos for solving your issue. I'm liking these buds a lot. (I still can't get Apple Care on them though)

That's very strange as I ordered mine from Apple directly, added AppleCare to the order and got the email confirming my AppleCare coverage as starting.

You are correct about asymmetrical body features. In addition to having one ear canal that's weirdly shaped, one of my ears is also lower and farther back on my head than the other. I now only wear Oakley frames so I don't have to deal with my glasses being perma-crooked on my face.

YES! Those Oakley frames are amazing. Love them...

Trivia note: Marilyn Monroe cut a little bit off of one of her spike heels on every shoe she owned, because the asymmetry gave her her 'hippy' walk. Weird... Leg length differences cause a lot of the lower back pain that people develop. t was one of the first things they checked for my bike fitting. Funky...

Thanks bro. We are on the same boat. I decided to buy these too. I hope I have the same experience to you after I receive it.

I called Apple Care direct, and it still took them a few minutes, and a rather long hold time, to get the coverage. The agent said that occasionally he has gotten a message that the units are already covered, but using a 'different system', can get them covered. It sounds like, potentially, the Apple Care systems aren't handling the random serial numbers? I've never had such issues getting coverage before, except the PowerBeats Pro buds. Hmm, is it a 'Beats issue'? Apple has owned Beats for how long? Hmm...

Interesting. It does feel like a different plastic. For 'cheap' buds, they just seem to tick most of the boxes.
