Yes unfortunately that's the case. I have developed computationally demanding apps for both platforms and always struggled during porting from iOS to Android trying to make them work roughly at the same level of performance. Android really requires faster hardware to run an app at the same speed as an iOS based device.

"The high performance apps are available on iOS. The close equivalent Android OS apps are best suited for home or maybe office, not professional use."

There are high performance apps available for Android OS. I never said there weren't any. I referring to the category of apps in my comment where there really aren't any.

Doesn't matter. My point still stands. You need much faster hardware in an Android device to have something work as fast as it does in an iOS based device. Since new phones have really fast hardware this has been less of an issue recently.

Most phones on android do have much higher specs.
From larger screens, to greater on board ram etc.
And even batteries that last a whole day.

I disliked iOS 7 the instant I installed it. My lovely sleep looking iPhone all of a sudden looked like a 3 year old had gone mental with crayons over it.

But I always jailbreak. I don't update until the jailbreak, nor will I consider buying the latest iPhone until the jail real is released.

So I put a theme on it and thought no more about it. I've jail token all my iPhones from the 3G up to my current iPhone 5 and have never had an issue whatsoever at all.

The reason I'll leave apple and go android will be if apple release a phone larger than 4.5" this year. I don't want a giant phone. I don't really want a phone bigger than 4'3" but I'd deal with 4'5". Any bigger and I have no choice but to go with android. I'll probably just grab a cheap phone like the Moto G and save myself £400. But I'm hoping I won't have to and there will be some variant of the 6 that is 4'5" or less.

Whilst my iPhone 5 does all I need I've had it almost two years and quite fancy a new phone. Wether it's Apple or android will depend on what Apple release later this year.

Regardless, it appears from app developers, that even with the higher specs, it just isn't enough.
