Maybe it needs a Software Update?
How? The charger does not plug into the computer. It goes to wall power. I don't think you could load the update into your phone, then connect the phone to the charger. That would be the only way I could see it working. Perhaps the problem would be in the phone or watch. If then, yes I could see updating the phone, watch or Airpods.

If a 2 Meter MagSafe to USB-C adapter cable can receive a Fireware Version Software update. This charger can too? o_O

Wow, I really thought it was just me, like I had a lemon or something. Well, it’s reassuring to see other people have had issues with this 3-in-1 charger, but not so reassuring that they haven’t found a solution yet.

If they can’t fix this with firmware or something, I think I’m done with Belkin as a company. My chargers from Anker all work perfectly…should have stuck with that brand. Lesson learned.

You spent $300 on two chargers. .....

2 units is actually 6 chargers.

I also have two and they're highly convenient. I can charge all of my devices with only a single cable and a small footprint and the phone puck keeps the phone at a really convenient angle regardless of whether I want it vertical or horizontal.

Zero complaints on the money spent.

I got the 3-in-1 charger from Monoprice. Works perfectly. When it's on sale it's about $32 or so. Only downside is it uses the watch charger puck you already have, but then I have several in a drawer by now, so for me that's a non-issue.

They had one thing to do...

It's quite incredible how third-party hardware and software sometimes simply cannot perform the task it's intended to. I try to stick to native apps and Apple hardware. I charge my phone with a Mag Safe charger and my Watch with the charger that came with it, using Apple's two-way USB-C adapter. My Air Pod Pros don't need charging overnight in the same way, although I sometimes pop them on the Mag Safe charger during the day (they sometimes feel quite hot when you put them in your ears).

Every time I tried to use third-party software (e.g. OmniFocus, PDF Expert, Microsoft Office, various mail apps etc - all ostensibly 'good' software) there was always some glitch or problem that caused an issue and required a workaround. Apple software's not perfect, but it "just works (better)" than non-Apple stuff.

Third-party Watch bands are the same. I've always been disappointed with them. The lugs never quite fit right, they look like the cheap fakes that they are, they're not comfortable, etc, etc.

And cases are the same...

The moral of the story is clear. You wouldn't buy a BMW then use mats from the discount store. (I don't have a BMW, and I don't care about my car, so I do buy mats from the discount store. My Apple products are a different matter, however).

via Magsafe. Same way you update firmware on Apple MagSafe chargers.
Does Apple even allow third-party products to distribute MagSafe firmware updates through iOS? I’ve heard of Apple updating Apple products, but I haven’t heard of Apple updating MagSafe devices they didn’t design.

That’s a first-party product. Unlike the Logitech keyboard for iPad that updates through the Logitech Control app, Belkin is going to need to do something unprecedented and beg Apple to distribute their update for them. Or release their own app specifically for this update.

I bought 2 of these (Version 1 at half price) last week. So far so good. 12 months warranty runs out in 51 weeks, so I should be good.

This is using Apple to Apple hardware. They might not allow MagSafe firmware updates for third party devices, even though the first party puck can do it.
I would have thought that because Belkin pay to have MagSafe (official) they would have that capability.

Belkin and garbage go hand & hand. Gotta remember, that the world’s worst smart plug is/was made by Belkin (WEMO)
I bought so many of those darn things and they kept going out on me. Switched them all out to Tapo matter and they all work fine!

Whoa! We have two ( easily one of the best tech purchases I've made in years) and my partner's JUST stopped working days ago, like this, and we just started looking into contacting them for warranty repair. Crazy to see this!
Same here. Bought two some time back from Costco. Mine works fine. Wife's was not charging phone without cycling power on the charger every few days. It was fine for the year or so we had it and only recently started having the problem.

In our case we just returned it to Costco for a refund and I bought a new one via Amazon which has a slightly different box and SKU than the Costco version. And so far the replacement works fine.

Seems like the Apple Watch charger being affected is a step further than just the iPhone MagSafe puck, no?
Dunno. I would have thought being an 'official partner' MagSafe provider they would have that as well.

Saying that, I'm wondering if this is an ‘overheating error' with the iPhone that forces the unit to turn off altogether. The arguments support this, given turning it off and on at the plug can reset it.
