First time using the Belkin glass screen protector and loving it so far.

Got it for £19.99 which is a great price for it, plus with the advantage of getting it applied correctly!

For is better than I thought, doesn't really catch at the sides

Just had the Invisiglass installed at the Apple Store on my X. Initial impressions:
  • Install: Great. Fast, no dust or lint and perfectly aligned
  • Feel: Great. Noticeably slicker than my naked year old iP7+. Edges are really well rounded and are not at all noticeable when swiping from the bottom or side edges.
  • Appearance/Design: Decent. This is NOT an edge to edge screen protector - it stops approximately .5-1mm short of the curved display edges and the top has the large cutout for the notch. The notch cutout makes it obvious that the screen protector is there, which is too bad because the sides and bottom blend in surprisingly well for not being edge to edge (better than any other non-edge to edge protector that I've ever seen). If you want a screen protector that, once on, you will not be able to tell it's there, this is not it. On the other hand, this is the first non-edge to edge screen protector I've seen that I do not hate and might actually be able to live with.

Just had my Belkin Glass protector installed at my Apple Store with the machine...well..to clarify, they exchanged the one I ordered from Apple on line for one that is the same but designed to be used with the machine. The install is perfect. The edges seem smooth and beveled. Expensive, but so worth it with the machine install.

Same! I love mine!

Question though - if you tilt the phone and look at the left side from an angle can you see a bit of a rainbow effect?

Definitely can’t see it straight on but when angling from the left side I can see a bit of a rainbow effect when the screen is on.

Just got the Belkin invisiGlass with my iPhone X. It's incredibly amazing!! it covers the whole display area (unlike it was smaller than the display area on previous iPhones) and when touch it feels like nothing on the screen!

Great to hear the Belkin InvisiGlass this year for the X covers the whole display area! I had one applied for my 7+ at Apple Store on day 1 with the machine, perfect alignment, however the glass really stops just short of the display on the two sides. Was a bit of an eye sore for the whole year.

On a related note, now that I’ve peeled that off and replaced it with a cheap edge-to-edge one, in comparison the Belkin one is much thinner but harder in the edges. It’s good quality glass, definitely a grade up from the cheap ones, but whether it’s worth 8x the price is up to each user.

I just got back from the Apple store and had the Belkin installed. Much better than the two other cheap ones I tried from Amazon (Anker and Bovon) which both gave me bubbles and the cut outs weren’t precise. In the past, I’ve used the Zagg Glass+Luxe and liked the 3D aspect, but since the X is frameless , the non 3D screen protectors don’t look as bad. My only complaint about the Belkin is that dust seems to be collecting around the notch. Hard to see in the picture.

It’s expensive, but so is the phone. Eventually when Zagg comes out with the Luxe, I will probably try that.

Thanks for confirming the Belkin glass does indeed cover the whole display area and more

Update: My Belkin screen protector already has a huge crack across it less than 16 hours of install. I have no idea how it happened as I didn’t drop my phone at all. I am now questioning the quality of them.

I will be going back to the Apple Store today so they can apply a new one. If it happens again, I am going to ask for a refund.

If you check the Apple site, you will see lots of reviews just like what you experienced.

For everyone that's happy w/ their purchase I'm very happy for you.

For any prospective people - I would seriously advise against spending 40$ dollars on a screen protector when there are plenty of brands that can do the same. Belkin overcharges for things (not their fault, they want to profit and they pay a lot to be exclusive at Apple).

Belkin's protectors are not providing anything that you couldn't get on amazon or elsewhere.

Question - will the Belkin Invisishield (installed by Apple) screw up the iPhones oleophobic coating if I eventually remove it in the future?

$40 is exorbitant for a screen protector when you can get decent one for only a couple bucks on amazon.

BUT I’ve probably spent almost $40 on all sorts of different protectors from amazon....edge to edge, soft PET edges, full glass edges, .33MM, .26mm, etc.... I can tell you that they are not all built exactly the same. Cuts for the notch area can be slightly different, as well as length and width, noticable differences in thickness.

I've always used regular film protectors but decided to finally give tempered glass a try. I tried on a couple edge to edge ones but ultimately wasn't satisfied and put on a Sparin 2D. It was pretty good but was immediately turned off by the look and height of the lip....Film protectors are much thinner and blend in much better. This brought me over to the Belkin. It's thinner, falling somewhere between the Sparin (.26mm) and typical film. As such it blends in a bit better and is less visible than the Sparin. Compared to the Sparin the Belkin’s notch area is a bit more perfectly cut and covers a fraction more of the screen as well. The store application is perfectly aligned as others mentioned. I've read of the issues with cracking....hopefully mine holds up. If it does crack....I'll have to decide whether to go through the warranty process or just move back to film.

DK. I have apple care. I’d like to see how durable the screen is before apply anything to the beautiful display. If I crack the screen twice(which I doubt) I’ll put one on. I had the Belkin one installed on my 6+. Not impressed with the fit.

Question - Did the screen feel more “slick” with the screen protector on or off?

I’m getting mine reinstalled and I notice when swiping it feels more “buttery” smooth with the screen protector on (bs the natural screen).

Do you still have you’re 7+?

Does the Belkin screen still feel slicker? I have to get Apple to give me a replacement (couldn’t get bubble to go away) so I took it off and the X screen doesn’t feel as “slick” as the Belkin Invisiglass.

Geez, the bashing of the Belkin Invisiglass for the X on MacRumors is getting ridiculous. It's understandable if you don't want to spend $40 for a glass screen protector, but that doesn't mean all the cheaper glass screen protectors are of the same quality. Belkin's glass is discernibly thinner and "smoother" feeling than other screen protectors I've used in the past. At home installation was super easy. Definitely plan on pursuing a warranty replacement if it cracks during it's usage.

I feel bad for people who experienced cracks shortly after buying Invisiglass, but this could easily happen to any screen protector. I don't fault Belkin for these issues especially when they seem to be super responsive to social media to get replacements to people who complain.

Honestly think the negative reception of the Invisiglass is more a result of people with bad experiences being more likely to write reviews. Cannot think of a single time I've felt the urge to review a screen protector if I have a positive experience. It's just one of those accessories you setup and forget.
[doublepost=1509932537][/doublepost]By the way I installed mine a home on my own. I would have used the machine at the Apple Store if I realized it was an option (I thought they didn't have it set up for launch), but I have no regrets getting the Belkin otherwise.

$40 for a a $1 piece of glass. The markup on these things is ridiculous. I'm sure Apple gets 50%. Of course, who can blame them if people are willing to pay that price.

Does anyone know if you can purchase a similar type of Applicator, I go through them like there is no tomorrow (I usually get small microchips on corners about every other month and I am constantly replacing them, having an applicator might make it less of a hassle

Ok, I've went through 2 different types of the cheapie ones on Amazon (Maxboost and Tech Armor) and I'm going to Apple today to have them put on a Belkin. These cheapies cost me $15 for 5 but they really suck. The tech armor just was the wrong shape/size. It didn't match the actual notch and screen. The maxboost fit better but just felt like crap and felt cheap. Left fingerprints everywhere and just didn't feel good to the touch. Even if the Belkin ends up cracking or whatever Apple will replace it. If it turns out to be junk I'll try something else but for now I don't mind spending $40.

do you know whether apple/belkin will replace it for the life of the device?
