I have the glass one. Doesn't impede swipes at all
I see, I did not like either version because of the cutout at the top for the notch. I could clearly see the lines of the protector which doesn't go fully to the edges. Dust particles collect along the edges, which pronounces the effect. I will say that the dust is rather easy to wipe off, but it still happens multiple times throughout the day. I returned it today and because of AC+ I'm using no protection on the front screen. Loving it to be honest. If I break it at some point, I may reconsider getting a glass screen protector. But my clear case is so grippy especially when my hands are moisturized, it'd be damn near impossible for me to drop it. I held it at a 70-80 degree angle in one hand and it didn't slide at all, its gripped to my skin. Caudabe makes good cases

Just because the Rhinoshield can survive a hammer doesn’t mean it’s proven to be definitively better, it’s subjectively better. 9

lmao.

pretty sure that makes it DEFINITIVELY better at protecting the screen because the belkin hasn't even survived a day on some people's phones.

and for the record I tried it out on day 1 and returned it when I realized it was corning glass which is the same stuff tech21 uses. For 40 dollars? Huge scam.

Not sure why you're getting bent out of shape. I already stated if you bought it and are happy with it then good for you.

I'm warning other people who haven't purchased it or are on the fence on spending 40 dollars on a screen protector.

If people have no problem parting with 40 dollars great. Other people should be informed there are cheaper options that do the same thing if not better for MUCH cheaper.

accessory glass 2 by corning isn't even a very great material if we're talking dollar for dollar. On top of that look at the rating for this on the apple store:

https://www.apple.com/shop/product/...iglass-ultra-screen-protection-for-iphone-8-7

I'll admit that a majority of the reviews are because it did not fit well, but the rest of the unhappy reviews are for the glass breaking in very mild settings.

If you’re going to keep stating this....please let use know what cheaper options we can get that offer the same or better thinness, coverage and cut....so we can give it a try.

Well he mentioned Tech21 and it's amazing how much money we'd save on this, but we'd have to do it ourselves.

https://www.tech21.com/en_us/evo-glass-iphone-x-clear

The link you posted says it’s $44.95 which is even more expensive than the Belkin. And at .4mm it’s pretty much double the thickness of the Belkin.

You haven't posted a single screen protection for the X in this thread from a reputable brand that matches or exceeds the thinness specs of Belkin's option at a cheaper price.

PLEASE show me a better option because I would like to save money in the future. Otherwise I recommend you stop trolling/baiting this thread.
[doublepost=1510255607][/doublepost]robotrootbeer, no one in this thread is saying the Belkin Invisiglass is the best value for a screen protector. There are plenty of solid cheaper options out there that will protect an iPhone's screen just as well (or better) from scratches and bumps. What is being argued in this thread is that people who desire an unintrusive, thin glass screen protector will experience an appreciable difference with the Invisiglass compared to other options.

I did not say that at all.

I gave tech21 as an example of another company using corning glass.

Rhinoshield ones are 20 dollars and plenty of 3rd party reviews on youtube of their ability to protect.
I wrote Rhinoshield screen protector in like 3 of my posts.

Also I don't understand how I'm trolling/baiting anything?

I keep explicitly stating if you are happy - I AM HAPPY FOR YOU. This is for other people that wander in and think there are no alternatives.

Local Apple stores here are sold out until Dec 6. I think I want to add a glass screen protector because the X actually fits in my pocket, but I can’t put them on to save my life. Bubble city. Anywhere else put them on like Apple store and what would you recommend?

Update: My Belkin screen protector already has a huge crack across it less than 16 hours of install. I have no idea how it happened as I didn’t drop my phone at all. I am now questioning the quality of them.

I will be going back to the Apple Store today so they can apply a new one. If it happens again, I am going to ask for a refund.

Sounds like something due to an impact, whether an incidental bump (against something), a knock or drop. Or other mysterious phenomena o_O

Well my wife had hers put on Saturday and she showed me this morning that it was cracked already

Oh my

tech21's glass screen protector for the X is even more expensive than Belkin's option, only advertises itself as being under .4mm thick, and doesn't state anywhere on its product page that it uses Corning glass.

Rhinoshield screen protector is cheaper ($25, not $20 as you claim), but they do not state what type of glass they use. Rhinoshield is also still only available for preorder on their website, so someone who orders it would have to wait for it.

I'm still confused where the better alternative is for a thin unintrusive glass screen protector for the X from a reputable brand that is readily available to purchase at this moment. I'm not about to order from a random cheap glass protector that claims to be better on Amazon/eBay/etc. Too many risks of getting a shoddy product by going that route. Honestly I could care less about Belkin, I just want to know where this alternative you keep on speaking about is. If there is carbon copy alternative out there please let me know. I'd love to save some money next time around.

On the other hand maybe you shouldn't be "preaching" about how better/cheaper alternatives are when there really isn't one out there at the moment. Especially when the term "better" is subjective, not definitive, in this case.

Maybe he’s thinking of Tech Armor as I recall having a Corning glass by them for my iPhone 7 last year.

Weirdly enough the tech armor also suffered lots of mysterious cracks on the iPhone 7, myself included. It was cheaper than belkins and about the same thickness. Can’t attest to the iPhone X versions seeing as they messed up the notch cutouts according to Amazon reviews.

Regardless it doesn't look like Tech Armor has announced a Corning based screen protector for the X.

Despite the ominous reviews, I gave into having Apple install Belkin’s ScreenCare+ InvisiGlass Ultra on my iPhone X. If it does crack, I’ll just have them reapply another. So far no issues on day 3 and happy with no lint or bubbles.

I’ll say the alignment could be better at the bottom, which is very very slightly (0.10-0.20mm) right of center but enough to go off the OLED. Maybe next time...

Just got the Belkin invisiGlass with my iPhone X. It's incredibly amazing!! it covers the whole display area (unlike it was smaller than the display area on previous iPhones) and when touch it feels like nothing on the screen!

Looks amazing! How did you find the application using the included tray? I have mine sitting here trying to get as many tips as this will be my very first glass screen protector application!!

Everyone saying AppleCare Plus removes the need for a screen protector are forgetting about scratches that can occur in your pockets seemingly out of nowhere. Litttle pieces of dust and sand, they’ve scratched every iPhone I own to date. I can’t bring myself to ruin the actual iPhone X screen, so I think I will get a screen protector.

I have recently done it for Iphone X. Its glass for sure and the alignment is perfect. Also not a single speck of dust or dirt.

I would never be able to do it this perfect.

I tried to install a screen protector my self and i had bubbles. then i took it to best buy and had them install it twice and each time it had bubbles. finally i took it to apple and the screen protector is now perfect with no bubbles. 40 bucks is a lot to spend on a screen protector but it is worth it if you want a screen with out air bubbles.

Save $33, order from amazon.. turn shower on hot for 2minutes, install in bathroom. You are welcome.

What does the steam do?

The moisture in the air adheres to the dust particles in the air effectively letting gravity take its course. There is probably a more scientific explanation, but you are basically creating a semi-clean room in regards to floating dust in the air.

I like this approach as the lint or dust in the air causes bubbles and takes too long to put the screen protector.

Update: still really liking the Belkin. I know some have had issues with their Belkin’s cracking. My phone actually slipped off the bed and onto the face my phone :(...but I’m happy to say the phone screen and protector came through unscathed.

In the spirit of searching for another screen protector that’s just as good..if not better than the Belkin for a cheaper price I’ve ordered two other products from Amazon.

Eakase https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076D1LY39/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
iCarez https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074GXSW19/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They should be similiar in thickness being .22 and .2mm vs Belkins .21mm. I’m not taking off the Belkin just to put these on...but I’m going to dry/test fit them against the Belkin and if I’m satisfied with the cut/coverage, I’ll keep them for backup if and when the Belkin breaks.
