Belkin snap shield for new iPad (3rd gen) available

why would they add buy it now when you cant even buy it now? :mad: i need a case this week. i have hardly touched my ipad because im worried im gonna get a scratch on it!

I couldn't tell you. Because I had the BSE already on when I got the Belkin. It just snapped in no problem

Any luck getting it shipped to Canada.
I'm really starting to be mad. I can't find anything in stores for the new iPad. And most online retailers either don't ship to Canada or take a big premium to do :mad:

We are on the same boat, but hey, i just grab the Griffin outfit for new ipad from bestbuy (they got tons of them, just in yesterday) and snap it on for 30 days return windows.

So Belkin / Macally, ship them up here within 30 days, i'm waiting!!!
 
just picked up one of these from best buy - it sucks. it doesn't grip very well and the corners release way too easily with barely any pressure. doesn't feel very secure, i'm going to return it.

kinda have my eye on the Speck Smartshell once they update it for third gen
 
has anyone around Seattle/Bellevue found this at Best Buy? Went to the Tukwila one and did not find it, just the ipad 2 version. Called Bellevue and Issaquah stores and gave them the SKU and they didnt have it either.

you might have had a bad one. I too had the same problems and the one that I got for an exchange was a much better fit/secure.
 
Has anyone tried this case with a gelaskin/carbon skin etc? I noticed someone said it worked with the bse. So I'm hoping it fits over the gelaskin I plan to get without any watermarking. If not, I may go with the smart feather - though I'd much rather have a clear case.

Got mine this morning...Perfect, and I can finally put my iPad on it's stand again...No defects at all, but one thing to remember...Before putting it on your iPad, clean the inside of the shell...Mine had a lot of dust in it, presumably from the manufacturing process as it came in a sealed package.

Anyone know if the Belkin Snap Shield Secure is the same as regular snap shield with just the magnet added? I don't want a case that won't allow me to remove the Smart Cover with the case in place. Thanks.

I believe the secure keeps smart cover locked onto the iPad. So you would have to remove the snap shield to get the smart cover off.

EDIT: I just checked out a picture of the Secure. Looks like it is the same shape as the regular Snap Shield, but adds the magnetic strip to hold the SC open across the back of the iPad. My mistake.

I picked up the clear Belkin at Best Buy last weekend :). They did have them. Lots, actually! Mine has more of a satin feel on the back of it for grip, it's not just straight up plastic. It also said it was for the iPad 2, but it fits my 3 just fine.

So that's the snap shield secure which holds the smart cover in place when open ?
Are you sure the iPad 2 models fits perfectly for the new iPad ??

Be careful. Saying the new shell fits the old iPad does not mean the old shell fits the new one.

The new ones are specifically marked as for the "third generation iPad" and have some design differences.

The old design is known to fail on the new devices, due to mold parting line stresses.

i didn't order any but waiting them to arrive the shelf @FS/BB or wherever.

i like Macally smartmate design but it can't take the smartcover off so it is a no go.

i think i will go with belkin one if the case is rock solid in fitness and build quality.

but the Griffin outfit i had right now, it is excellent EXCEPT the large cut out at the bottom & the hard plastic is really as slippy as naked ipad......
 
i bought a 3rd gen for the new ipad and it seems to fit, but will pop off with little effort. this is my first snap shield, are they suppose to be this loose? most cases whether it is an ipad or iphone seem to snap on nice and tight.

I'm curious to hear what other people think too. It seems to stay on fine, but seems loose however. For the short term, this is lots better than nothing, but I think I'll still be looking for a shell case to hold my iPad with.

I picked up the iPad 2 Snap Shield Secure on sale at Target this weekend for $19.99 to see how it fits on my 3rd gen. I didn't have too much trouble getting in on, but the middle of the case is slightly raised off of the back. I will be returning it and waiting for the new one to be released.
 
question - does the "smart" cover fall off easily if u toss your ipad in a bag?


like does it easily get loose and fall off?
