Worth noting that these usually come with a two year warranty so if it does break then you should be able to get it replaced. So yes, it may be $40 for a screen protector but factor in the warranty and replacements which others don't offer and it turns out to be a good deal, especially if you're someone that breaks screen protectors regularly.

I've lost count of the number if broken screen protectors I see on people's phones.

You're right... the whole point is that the screen protector can be replaced cheaper (or free!) rather than replacing the phone's entire screen assembly.

But I've seen people just live with huge chunks of the screen protector missing...

BEFORE YOU BUY:

You might want to check the reviews on the one this company made for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8. Virtually 100% negative reviews. Pretty much everyone says that Apple employees pushed this product on to the customer telling them that is was the best on the market. Unfortunately, in almost all the reviews it cracked or worse within just a couple days of light use (not dropping or scratching). Keep in mind that this is a thin piece of glass (how did this seriously pass testing?)

Sounds to me like Apple is getting a large cut of the deal to push on a product that hasn't even passed their own tests =\

Lol. You can do that yourself. There are screen protectors on Amazon for 10% of that price that come with cleaning cloth and the 'contraption' you are talking about. The result is equally good.

They do not come with the "contraption" that apple uses to install the Belkin protector.

Calculate this:
$199 + $29.
People tend to forget they are paying for applecare too to begin with

What is $228? Replacing the front display on AppleCare+? It's $29. Any other damage is $99. The prices without AppleCare+ are $279 for the display and $549 for everything else. There was literally a story posted on MacRumors about this earlier this morning: https://www.macrumors.com/2017/10/27/iphone-x-screen-repair-out-of-warranty-fees/

You getting applecare for free? ;)

That's pretty expensive for a screen protector.

Yeah, but it is awesome. Applestores have a nifty application device that aligns and attached without bubbles.

I don't get why people used these. I never used one ever. I've never had a problem with screen scratches, even back in the day when iPhones were inferior to today's tech.

But then again, I've never cracked a screen, yet I see people with cracked screens all the time.

I scratched a 6 Plus screen that cost me on trade in. This would have saved money overall.

Never used a screen protector since the first iPhone back in 07... never an issue.

I hope you’re not one who drops and crushes the glass on the iPhone X first week after shipping ;)

Can we see an Animoji of you loosing it if it occurs, please? I’m kidding but would be cool to see.

You mean the $279 repair cost.

No, they have a cutout for the notch which houses the cameras, so no interference.

Let’s not forget the inconvenience of having your phone being repaired a few days dealing with a loaner, lesser model when there is nothing in stock to replace it. Early October 2016 iPhone 6S 64/128GB where not in stock in all Apple and authorized Apple stores in Toronto. His was resolved in 4wks.

I tended the Genius Bar for 7 years... the screen protectors don’t do a darn thing- you’ll rarely find a Genius (or Genius Trainer) that recommends them, it’s just an over-priced piece of plastic garbage a Genius has to peel off the shattered glass screen in the back when replacing the screen. Tempered glass ones are especially annoying, because they often interfere with otherwise healthy touch sensors in the weirdest ways. Nothing but a 3rd party cash grab.

Belkin, just like Nuglas, is nothing but a brand name! All it comes down to is 1. Quality of the Screen Protector 2. What it`s made of 3. Thickness 4. How it`s designed.

Our screen protectors have an open edge design which will allow you to use any iPhone X case and not worry about pilled or chipped edges.

Its 2.5D curved and has a cut out for the Face ID, so there is absolutely 0 intereference. It`s 0.33mm thin, offers 100% touch accuracy and 99.9% transparency.

9H in hardness on the Mohs Scales of Hardness (a diamond being 10H) providing the best protection against scratches and high impact drops.

P.S. Picture below shows Nuglas Screen Protector already installed on the iPhone 10.
