Oh give over, will you. If the roles were reversed, you'd be boasting about Android's delicious optimisation, and how these ludicrously designed chips can run an OS on butter with less than half the specs.

Yet as it happens: Android is a bloated, sobbing, nappy-wearing man-child of an operating system, getting spoonfed RAM and cores by the tubful, as its mother prays it will finally grow up and get a job. Instead it just soils itself and asks for more.

Apple's achievements in the A-series CPU field is nothing short of astounding.

Post of the day

Most ignorant thing I've heard. Android is Linux which is probably the most secure OS available combined with additional security measures like Knox. iOS even on the iPad with split view doesn't multitask but task switch with only one app active at a time.

Trolls are here again...
I was just expecting you to post **** again, which didn't take long....

How much did Samsung pay you as a forum writers?

I think it's better for you to get into those Note 7 explosion thread instead...

It would cost Apple less than $2 to put 4GB in every device. Apple hardware design is nearly always compromised in some stupid way by beancounters.

That's $20,000,000 (per 10 million units sold) that someone would have to pay for. They're not going to increase the phone by $2 to cover that cost, so they would have to pay for it. And for what reason? Their 2gb phone from last year is still beating the new 8gb(6gb?) phones from this year. To be honest, I'm surprised they upped it at all.

Your response is moronic. Android is a piece of ****. That's no excuse for Apple being chintzy.

Less RAM means fewer apps resident at once, which means worse multitasking, which means a less capable platform. Finance beancounters (Tim) are making iOS less capable than it otherwise would be by hamstringing headroom for new features. The list of features not supported on the iPad air but supported on the Air 2 proves this.

More RAM means more apps resident at once, which means worse battery life, which means a less capable platform. The engineers are making iOS more capable than it otherwise would be by not stuffing it with more RAM than the vast majority of users will ever use.

In all seriousness, though, on a device where battery life and a sleek design are paramount, and especially on a device that the majority of people will upgrade within two years, why put in unnecessary hardware to further suck the battery life? I do agree that the iPad Air probably should have had 2GB, but 3GB on this iPhone will be plenty.

Optimisations OK, but this does mean that the iphone 7+ can handle more multitasking then the 7 wich is disappointing. I do not want a phablet, i wanna quickly take a picture with 1 hand, you simply cant do that with the 7+. This is why i think the 7 is also a better photograph tool xD

3GB RAM is nothing to get excited about. Androids are soon moving from 6GB to 8GB.

Don't give me the bullcrap that ohh iOS is teh mozt optimizzzed OS.

I believe they have still tried to be a miser and given just 3 instead of 4.

Reminds me of budget Androids with 750 MB or 1.5 GB odd figured RAM sizes.

*sigh* Nothing better to do than troll Apple boards?

3GB? Should have been 4GB.
Bare minimum these days with Apple.
Too bad the prices aren't bare minimum.

Everything is optimized to work together.. Why toss 4gb at something when 3gb does the job? It's a waste.

This is really impressive. And given Apple's prowess at optimization, the iPhone 7 Plus will easily reign the following year as the best phone in the 5.0+" segment.

Lmao. We haven't even seen the next Nexii devices or the S8. The 7+ might have a higher benchmark, but that doesn't mean jack.

If it's so secure, why do you hear about another doomsday security issue with Android every week?

RAM gate here we go again.

Personally not happy the plus is getting even more than the normal size - if it was alright for iPad Pro 9.7 how can 2gb not be okay for a smaller phone? Not too worried, I was never getting the ip7 this year anyway but still...

There's theoretical attacks that are hyped up and real attacks like iOS fappening incident that leaked private pictures of people's orifices for the world to see.

3gb Ram is a good thing. Will decrease or end the chance of apps suddenly closing out while using it, which still happens on the 6S plus. Much needed.

Social engineering. No amount of security can fix stupid.

Are you implying iOS users are stupid because if it's social engineering it would affect users of both OS. Instead of blaming the user the real blame is on iOS/iCloud.

Troll boy, that wasn't an attack on the phone but an attack on cloud services.. Next?

I'm stating, not implying, that the people who got caught out by this where phished, that it has nothing to do with icloud and that the people who got phished were stupid and naive to have done so.
