I use xTorrent and it seems to be rock solid under Leopard. I can't complain about speed either, just got a 1.1MB/s connection last night. :)

I tried Transmission a while back, but for some reason it downloaded much slower than Azerues. I think I was downloading Ubuntu.

Transmission for now but if I ever get that bug where it never stops downloading because it's stuck somewhere in the 90% range I'm going back with either Bitrocket or Tomato Torrent.

I use Transmission too, however I don't like it a lot of the time because it seems to be banned a lot lately.

A lot of the time I just boot into Windows (either through Parallels or boot camp) and just use Bitlord.... it owns.

I use Azureus but lately it's crashing Leopard if I let it run overnight, I usually return to a MB which I can't access yet it's switched on and I can hear the harddrive and fans working.

You need to try BitTyrant ;)

People simply have no idea what they are doing on torrents. No need to attempt to preach, the choir ain't listening...;)

And to whomever posted the above completely ill-informed comment, Transmission and XTorrent are complete garbage, unless you have no idea what you are doing...

I use transmission... i get good download rates, upload is alright (im on DSL, pushing the upload any higher than say 40KB/s on any client, in any OS makes the baby internet cry). What knowledge do i need to qualify as knowing what i am doing, and therefore causing me to switch from an incredibly easy to use client that gets th job done?

Put another vote in for Transmission. Now I just need to find its like in the Windows world. I mean, we already have Pidgin which is basically a fraternal twin of Adium (in terms of looks and features), and Handbrake is multi-platform... so where is my WinTransmission?

For windows, the only thing close to transmission would be uTorrent. Though for the mac I use transmission, though recently started using azeureus more.

I hate Azureus. I'm running it on Leopard on a PowerBoook G4 with 2 GB RAM. It slows my system and jams up the dock. I can't run many other programs at the same time and ALWAYS have to reboot when I exit in order to use the dock. Transmission works much better in Leopard.

I'm all for Transmission but it seems as of lately it crashes within seconds of opening it.

I have noticed that on occasion, Transmission will crash when opening a torrent file that in turn is opening the application for the first time (rather than it being already running).

Transmission does seem to almost idle for way too long and not begin downloading when there are definitely seeders and leechers on a particular torrent. I assume that quite a few trackers do not approve of transmission. Azureus seems to instantly start grabbing and connecting to peers.

there is a small country north of the USA where the police have declared 'hands-off' on torrenters. If you ain't a redneck, welcome to Canada. Yeah, i know, sometimes we indiscriminately taser people at 'customs and immigration' and subsequently kill them. oops, 'our bad'.

Azureus is nice if you want to access a large amount of options. Transmission is nice if you want something that just works. I've heard rumors of uTorrent being developed for Mac but have yet to see anything of it.

Personally I use Transmission because of its nice clean interface. But there is no doubt in my mind that Azureus is actually the better client when it comes to speed. There are some torrents which refuse to move in Transmission but when I fire them up in Azureus, start immediately. I have no explanation for that. And to me Azureus uses just as much resources as Transmission (in terms of RAM and CPU usage) so I don't know what the problem is.

Azureus keeps crashing my Macbook. It worked without flaw on Tiger but Leopard is a different story.
I've used Transmission lots in the past, but not much within the last year. I kept having problems with it connecting to other peers and showing me as firewalled on a couple of trackers.
I've just been putting up with the crashes in Leopard -- at least for now. I must have sent 20 crash reports to Apple already.
