Best Buy is now accepting Apple TV 4 pre-orders on its U.S. website for in-store pickup or delivery beginning Wednesday, November 4. The electronics retailer is carrying the new Apple TV in 32GB and 64GB models for $149.99 and $199.99 respectively alongside an optional two-year AppleCare Protection Plan for $29.

Apple has not confirmed when the new Apple TV will be available at Apple Stores in the U.S. and other launch countries, but next week is a possibility based on Apple's own shipping estimates and Best Buy's in-store release date. Personal Pickup for the new Apple TV is currently unavailable through the Apple Online Store.

Apple began taking online orders for the new Apple TV a few days ago, and the first set-top boxes will begin shipping to customers later this week. The earliest deliveries should arrive on October 30 for those who opted for one-day shipping, while standard shipping delivery estimates range between November 2-6.

Apple TV 4 orders have shifted to "Preparing for Shipment" status for many customers.

Best Buy is a convenient option for prospective Apple TV 4 buyers that prefer in-store pickup and do not have an Apple Store within close proximity. The electronics retailer has around 1,050 stores in the U.S., in addition to nearly 200 locations in Canada. The chain also operates in Mexico.

My Apple.com order randomly went to "Preparing for Shipment" last night. I wonder how long it will sit in that status.

My Apple.com order is also preparing for shipment. Should ship today or tomorrow for 30 October delivery.

My order is still processing but still says Oct. 30th for the earliest shipping date. I paid for next day shipping so still plenty of time to be ready for a Friday delivery. (fingers crossed) :D

I ordered the first day that we were able to from the App Store. But it didn't give me an option for different shipping. It was just the free standard shipping for me.

EDIT: I just checked. And my order is now preparing to ship also. It was expected to arrive Nov 2-4. Maybe I will get lucky and get it sooner.

My order here in UK Apple.com/uk is still showing Processing Items and here we don't have any other option other than standard delivery in UK Apple site :-( Delivery: 30 Oct - 3 Nov by Standard Shipping... hope to see it on Friday 30 Oct!

I ordered the minute I saw the story on MacRumors, and set it up for overnight shipping. Mine still says processing. :-(

Edit: Preparing for shipment now! :)

I have 25.00 in Best Buy points, plus I'll get my 17.00 back for next day shipping. So I get to save 42.00 for being patient. Lol,I can wait. I'll just read everyone else's posts on how great it is until 11/4 :)

Am I the only one that's actually glad the 4th gen atv didn't have 4K? Lol. I got my F8500 1080p plasma when I heard they were being discontinued in late 2013 so it's fairly new. I'de like to wait 2-3 years to upgrade to 4K seeing as how there isn't much 4K content right now anyway.

I have the same tv! (great tv btw) I am also not looking to upgrade anytime soon. So the 4K exclusion was no biggie to me as well. :)

As someone who just ditched their Apple TV for a Roku, I've got to ask: what is the draw? I'm an Amazon Prime member and unless Amazon puts an app in the Apple environment (assuming they would be allowed to), I plan to stick with Roku. I liked my Apple TV, but it just seems that a Roku is more flexible. Maybe people use the iTunes connectivity, etc. more than I did. I basically just used it for Netflix, HBOGO, etc.

While reading the latest and awaiting my new atv arrival I was just thinking of a cool app concept that would be atv-specific: I recognize this would only be good for families with multiple iOS devices like mine but oh well- some sort of collaborative drawing game where at each turn you had to add something (maybe limited or somewhat predefined) to the "group" drawing on the big screen...so mom and dad, kids or friends sit around the living room and as their turn comes they add to the drawing on their device and everyone can see it on the screen...now there would be some goal and some reason for everyone not to see each other's personal screen...obviously this is just a hair brain idea but the point being I am looking forward to TV specific apps that didn't or couldn't exist on stand alone iOS devices. Anything involving broadcast by linking to a wifi antenna would be cool too. Good morning.

For those in France :
- fnac.com announces delivery starting November 2 : http://www.fnac.com/Apple-TV-64-Go/a9172677/w-4
- ldlc.com announces availability under 7 days, around October 30 : http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00197388.html
- materiel.net has it listed for pre-order, but no availability date is mentioned : http://www.materiel.net/accessoire-tv/apple-tv-modele-2015-64-go-4e-generation-123284.html
- and, of course, apple.fr doesn't say anything ;) ... & they don't accept Apple Store gift cards online :(

Am I the only one who is happy with their current Apple TV?

We use a Chromecast in the living room for quick YouTube or Netflix streaming, and an Apple TV 3 in one bedroom for the same sort of thing.

Hope Apple doesn't start to neglect the Apple TV 3 and still update it - even if with minor updates.

I don't have a 4K TV yet but I would still prefer for the Apple TV to support it when I do. Look at as an extra feature, there's no harm. You don't have to use it but it will make some people happy.

Err... you should be grateful since Apple are offering you fastest shipping for free and call it standard delivery. Here in the U.S., we have to pay $17 for your delivery dates.

We have to order a minimum amount (orders above X eur are free), + currency conversion and higher tax.

So not sure why we should be grateful for "fastest shipping for free".

We pay 179eur approx 200$, while a customer in New York, pays taxes included 180.83$, so who should be the grateful one?

They either demo'd or mentioned a game something like this for Apple TV. So you'll see concepts like this and other ideas that use individuals' iOS devices as the "remote" for a multi-player game.
